Can someone please shed some light on how Booker died. I was fortunate enough to know him and he will always have a special place in my heart. He was a dear soul, although not able to communicate clearly, what he did say always left an indelible mark with you. He will be missed by the peoples of Flagaman, Pedro Cross and Treasure Beach. For those who did not know Booker, he was one of the hardest working, most generous, gracious person you could ever meet. Booker always find a way to help out, he never knew how to say no. My heart is so heavy at this moment, but I take comfort in knowing that he has gone home to be with his heavenly father.
RIP Booker!

From what I've heard he was walking home from a shop in Flagaman Square and was swept away in a flash flood. They found his body in Back Flagaman.

Flagaman Ebanks, I couldn't have said it better myself. Booker was a very very kind soul. I remember he once found out that I liked veggetables and for weeks afterwards he brought me an abundance from his garden.

I will miss Booker greatly. He was an inspiration to all of us living life with no disabilities. As he was such a hard working respectful man with no hearing, no special training for the deaf, and not able to speak so well. But as you stated Flagaman Ebanks, you always knew what he was saying even if you didn't understand the words.

May his soul rest in peace.

Yes Lenford Blake is his real name, Buka as i called him had worked for us here at Sunset Resort for years, their wasnt a nicer man to be found, he never came by my house without something from his garden to give us and the staff, and usually in abundance, The staff at Sunset and my family are in shock over the incident, every staff has asked for the day off for the funeral, he was like family to all of us, and worked for us the day that he parted, I never seen a man his age that could work so hard. He will be greatly missed by everyone that had the priveledge of ever meeting him, although he was not able to speak so well, we could all communicate with him perfectly, Buka or Booker you get some rest now mi friend, and thanks for all that you did for us during the years . We miss ya a whole lot.

I personally knew 'Booker' from Tranquility Bay where he worked for a number of years. He was a dedicated painter and usually had some humour whenever we crossed path; even a special wink and a genuine smile, which he normally used to greet the ladies especially.
I also benefitted generously from his produce: vegetables in abundance, flowers and fruits. Flowers which we still have in our garden at home. I remembered one of the last times I saw Booker, about 2 1/2 years ago, while driving near Old Wharf. I saw him painting, and he beckoned for me to stop by. He invited me to come to his house for lots of stuff like tomatoes, beans, mangoes, flowers (in abundance). Even when I was driving off, he asked me to hold on for more, until I asked him to save some for someone else. That's Booker, very generous in his giving.
I even got used to his style of communicating; despite him being physically challenged. Persons used to ask me how I understood his language, but the more you associate with him the clearer it was. There was no barrier with his language style.
He was a unique person and well known for his excellent painting skills. My condolences to his family and the memories of his life will live on in the hearts of those who had come in contact with this man LENWORTH BLAKE.

Whilst returning home Aug/Sept, Lenford ’Booker’ Blake was painting the outside of the Villa that I and my family had rented. As a result we saw Booker most days and often he would bring some food from his farm. Sunday last (26th Sept 2010), our dinner was the Ackee that he gave us to bring back to the UK. My, my, my!!! How quickly can the shifting sands of life, blot out the footprints of the very merest prescence!

May Booker's memory continue to be a blessing to all those who came into contact with him. In Jesus' name.
