Mrs. Verlin Parchment was born on the 18th of March, 1933.

The 70 year old Mrs. Verlin Parchment has worked for 31 years at hotels and guest houses. She is always being commended on her delicious cooking and hard work by guests and visitors who visit the guest houses and hotels. She is now working at Rainbow Tree Villa located in Billy's Bay. Miss Verlin was married to the late Endlie Parchment who was a well known mason. Her favourite dish is ackee and saltfish which is the national breakfast dish of Jamaica. In addition to her dedication and comittment to tourism in and around Treasure Beach. Mrs. Parchment has mothered nine children, but knowing Miss Verlin, we all appreciate that she will never stop there and so she went on to earn the reputation of being the most loved and respected person in the community as she opened her heart and doors to everyone.

Miss Verlin said she would like to see more commitment from the new recruits as according to Miss Verlin, it is very important we keep our visitors happy and satisfied so that they would come back and invite others to come and enjoy our beautiful community. This, she said, would be her legacy.

Miss Verlin! Miss Verlin! How wonderful to see your profile on TB.net! Shanique really has done you proud - you are one of the kindest, most caring people we have ever met. (Besides the fact that you're a fantastic cook! George and Hovey complain all the time that my spicy chicken tastes nowhere near as good as yours!)

We're really, really looking forward to spending August with you and your family at Rainbow Tree.

Lots and lots and lots of love,

Judy, David, George and Hovey xx

Dear Miss Verlin,

Finally all the wonderful things about you have appeared in print!!! They should put you on a giant poster as planes fly into Montego Bay to welcome all the thousands of visitors to Jamaica for you are truly an example of the heart of your beautiful country!!

Your eyes have seen so much happiness and sadness and reflect an acceptance of everyone, no matter who they are.

Your smile is gentle and gives a blessing to all who receive it and your laughter brings it's own joy to all who hear it.

A warm hug from you makes all the cares fly away and gives a sense of peace to anyone fortunate enough to receive it.

Your faith in God is a lesson to all who ever doubt that there is someone there to help.

Your life ... simple, caring and loving and courageous... how proud we are to know you and your wonderful family and to always feel a part of that family even though we are thousands of miles away.

Thank you for all you have given us and so many others .. we think of you often and have your picture in our home and tell everyone we know about the very special friend we have in Billy's Bay ... an exceptional and wonderful woman .. Miss Verlin!!!

Always keep us in your prayers ...

Lots of love from Bob and Nonnie Robertson

Ms. Verlin -- Words cannot begin to capture the incredible essence of your heart and soul. You exude love, kindness, selflessness and grace in all you do. We hope to once again sit with you on Karen's and Peter's veranda to talk and laugh. And, Arusha looks forward to escorting you -- looking gorgeous in your Sunday best - to church!

In the mean time, you and your wonderful family remain in our hearts, thoughts and prayers.

Love,

Jenny and Arusha Morgan

Dear Miss Verlin,
What a wonderful tribute to you by your beautiful granddaugher, Shanique! The fact that she would take the time to write about you is a tribute to how special you are to her AND to so many other people.

If anyone wants a definition of "love", they just need to look at you, talk to you, eat your food, or have you care for them. You ARE pure love.

You make everyone feel welcome, at home (better than MY home because I don't cook), at peace, and like they are the most important person in your life. That is a very rare and special quality. You are are very rare and special person!

I miss you and your wonderful family so much! I hope to come down to Rainbow Tree in the near future to be with all of you again. And, of course, for the very special, caring, and loving attention that I always get.

My love to you and the family,
Bev Nerenberg

Mrs. Verlin made my vacation at Raintree one of the most pleasant experiences I have ever had in my life. Her thoughtful ways and humble giving attitude was something that I will carry with me and cherish forever. Everyone who meets her is left with a gift of knowing that there are kind, considerate and loving people in the world. Not only that but she makes great coffee and can cook. I am still trying to take off the pounds that I put on during my stay.

Dear Miss Verlin,
You are the essence of love and goodness -- and you have contributed joy and warmth to so many people's lives. Everyone with whom you come in contact -- whether they be your family, your neighbors, or your guests -- have all realized what a very wise and special lady you are.
We love you more than words can express.

Miss Verlin,
Your kindness to us and our children feels like a miracle. You are surely the spirit and essence of Jamaica. Some of the fondest memories of my life are being with you -- out on the verandah at dawn or in the kitchen, talking and baking bread. We will be down this week! We cannot wait.

So much love and respect from Marion Winik, Crispin Sartwell, Hayes, Vince, Emma, Sam, & little Jane

Miss. Verlin,
Any human being that has not been touched by you does not know the full meaning of love. You are a community model. I can remember as a child, running out to the gate for my kiss as you passed by. No matter how hot the sun was or the importance of what you were rushing to do...you always took a moment to "smell my headside". Sick in the community...Nurse Verlin every time!! When I think of you, my heart smiles. I love you.

Hi Miss Verlin,

It's so nice to see you recognized as a special person by your community! Your picture brought smiles to my Wife, Kathy, and me.

You helped us have the vacation of a lifetime many years ago when Karen Kennedy had just completed their lovely home in your lovely neighborhood.

We hope you and your family are doing well and that we can revisit you before long!

Hugs from freezing cold Virginia,

David & Kathy Coakley

Dear Ms. Verlin,
I love seeing your beautiful face on this website. My husband and I feel so far away in the U.S., without your coffee and warm personality first thing in the morning. We can't wait until April to bring our children and my father & his wife to Rainbow Tree to meet you and your wonderful family!
Miss you in West Virgina,
