For those who admire our hummingbirds (and, as I wrote in my book, wonder how they survive hurricanes) here's a series of photos that I think are spectacular. Note the one with a penny to show how tiny the nests are. Enjoy!

Wonderful pictures of my favorite birds just a little bit of info on them they are the only birds capable of stopping in mid air and reversing they fear neither humans or any other bird they must feed every hour or so and i do feed them yearly ,they migrate and return every year to my backyard for the nectar i provide also the flowers around the yard i spend so much time watching them come to the feeder onthe deck and yes they will get up close to you .I have never seen any of their nest wether here or in Jamaica , thanks to you Don and also the person who skillfully documented all of this .Also get lots of different specieces of beautiful and big wood peckers i provide a special suet for them .
