Hi there,

Me and my girlfriend want to make a stop at Milk Rivers Bath but we're not too sure weather to make a stop there overnight (coming from Kingston) and stay at the hotel there or arrive at TB first and then arrange a daytrip there. How much would a daytrip cost from TB? What would everyone suggest? Thanks!!

Hello,
My husband and I have been to Milk River Bath and enjoyed the experience. It is a long day trip from TB; however, the drive is nice along the coast. If I were you, I would stop on the way from Kingston and spend 1-2 hours. It would be a nice break.

You would be spending money twice if you came to T.B. and went on a day trip back to Milk River Bath... it is on the way from Kingston. You can stay at the Milk River Inn which is basic and no frills. Not much to do there except the baths. You could stay in May Pen for a night and get a taxi to the Milk River Bath from there and then make your way to T.B. AT least in May Pen there is a cool market, some neat old archetecture (one of the oldest clock towers in jamaica), some shops, a couple of pool halls, some decent cook shops. May Pen is not frequented by too many tourists though, so expect the prices of the very few hotels and guest accomodations to be very expensive and they are bery basic. I have had to attend a funeral there, and one of my best friends lives there, and travelling from T.B. and staying for two nights was very dear and I had to switch accomodations after the first night because the accomodations were awful at the first place. The second place was better, but again, expensive for nothing special. Great scenery around those parts though... lots of bananas, cane, and greenery. Milk River is a relaxing albeit short treat. Maybe check out Little Ochie/Alligator Pond after the Milk River experience on your way to Treasure Beach... great fish, neat shops!! Have fun exploring!

Milk River Bath is also really close to Alligator Hole where there are manatees in the river that you can go see by boat, or snorkel with.

Along that coast road heading to TB you'd also pass Gut River, Alligator Pond, Lover's Leap, then TB.

Nice ride :-)

Someone told me Milk River was closed recently so you might call the hotel ahead to be sure.

I saw that post on TripAdvisor.com that said the baths were closed and meant to reply-- we were just there a few weeks ago and they were open. In fact, there was a 2 hour wait to get a soak!

Think perhaps the person was confused= the pool across the street from the baths and hotel looks like it has been closed for some time.
