Since there are so many pictures, we need to get them out of the main thread and put them here.

Many thanks to Nickell Hill for trudging through waist high water for hours yesterday afternoon to provide us with these photos.
I went into Great Bay this morning and saw the newest fashion wear modelled.
And I saw the new taxi service.
Residents were making the best of the situation laughing and joking, however, the pain and suffering was evident everywhere you looked.
I was able to take a car into Billy's Bay this afternoon. The road is still flooded, but passable. The waters in front of Sunset Resort and Charmaine's Shop in Frenchman's is down quite a bit with the normal puddles left on the road. This is due to a drainage system that was revamped after Ivan. It is working and the flood waters are receding as a result.
I am also happy to report that the 'washtub' was used for doing laundry today. I think every one of us here were just thrilled to hang freshly washed clothes on the lines and have them dry! Every yard had clothes flapping in the breeze.
The sea remains very strong and rough. It has just started to die down this afternoon, showing some of the strongest seas this morning.
All for now.
Eric and I went for a walk into Great Bay on Sunday afternoon. We walked via Old Wharf, through the fields coming out by Vike's house.
The new road to Great Bay.
Walking down that lane we had to wade through shin high water at times. Once at the lane to Ital Rest we were back in shin high water.
This is the remains of a watermelon field we passed along the way.
We made it to the Sea Crab where we were told the waters had receded about 4 inches from Friday, so averaging 1 1/4 inch per day.
The floor inside the bar now stays dry unless a vehicle passes by. We sat outside on a bench with our feet in the flood waters enjoying a cold beer.
We were told the "ferry" was taking the afternoon off. I started walking towards the 7th Day Advent Church but when I reached knee high water I decided not to go further.
While at the Sea Crab a large truck was leaving out of Great Bay. Many folks hoped on as that was the only transport getting through all afternoon. You will see from the photos that the back of the truck was filled with salvaged posessions from someone's home.
It is a common sight now to see the pelicans diving in the fresh water pond for fish. The bird life is teaming.
Another common sight is cars sitting in yards with all doors and windows open. As we attempt to drive through flooded out areas the insides of the cars are getting soaked.
The following photos were taken in both Calabash Bay and Great Bay on Sunday morning. These photos will show that the waters are receding very slowly and at this rate I have to wonder how long it will be before people will be able to get back into their homes.
No short term solutions have come forth yet.
Eric and I were both struck by the tragic beauty of the area. The vegetation is vibrantly green and lush. The sun is shining and the waters are blue and glistening in the sunshine with ducks, pelicans, egrets, etc. playing in the waters. Then you see a flooded out house, or the road sitting under 2 - 3 feet of water and the reality of the situation comes back full force.
I apologize for not posting these photos earlier, however, we have had a problem with our internet service over the last few days.
Thanks to all who took/posted pix. It helps to have a view of what's happening back a yaad.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all in Treasure Beach.
