Hi TB Residents,
I see that another tropical depression has developed east of Puerto Rico. Also in the same program they noted that this is a record storm season; they've run through all the letters of the alphabet. Take care TB folks, we're watching and praying in West Virginia.
Oh God No !
From the photos I see TB can take anymore rain.
Here's the latest from weather.com as of 2:31 ET 10/22/2005:
The jist is that the new depression is supposed to strengthen into a tropical storm later today. And it looks like it will go over Haiti (poor, poor Haiti) and bypass Jamaica. Though I imagine the seas will get quite rough and more rain will probably come.
And, as if Wilma weren't enough, a new tropical depression has formed southwest of Puerto Rico in the Caribbean Sea. Tropical Depression 25 is forecast to become Tropical Storm Alpha later today. If that happens, a new Atlantic Basin record for named storms will be established: 22 in one season. The depression/storm is forecast to move NNW over Haiti tomorrow, then through the southern Bahamas before turning northward and northeastward into the Atlantic.
A tropical storm warning has been issued for Haiti, and a combination of warnings and watches are posted for the Dominican Republic. A tropical storm watch has been posted for the southeastern Bahamas and Turks and Caicos Islands. Heavy rain is beginning to spread into Hispaniola with up to a foot expected in isolated locations. Life-threatening flash floods and mudslides may result.
