Harpers & Queen, Jan 2005 British edition, features an 8-page fashion spread called 'Jamaica inn' shot by Walter Chin and styled by Nick Cox on the beaches and alongside the fishing boats of Frenchman's and Calabash Bays. Good thing the weather that day was cloudy and overcast, since it features heavy wool sweaters.
Sometimes the publicity causes some concern. I truly hope this beach remains a treasure and does not become "over-exposed" as did many others on the island.
Luckily, the location of the shoot was NOT named in the feature or the credits; once you go, however, you know ;)
I have the same concern. In February's VIBE Magazine there was a full page add for Jamaica which reads:
"To reach Treasure Beach just drive the South Coast until someone calls you a Bred".
I was shocked. VIBE is a music and entertainment magazine owned by Quincy Jones. The magazine's reach is huge.
I am very concerned that the publicity the South Coast is getting will spoil the area.
