Has anyone read that Rita Marley is planning to move her husband's body to Africa? She says it was always his wish to have his remains rest in Ethiopia. I read this online last night. Has it made the newspapers in Jamaica and if so what has been the reaction?
Ironic -- Ethiopia is trying to deport many of the Rastafarian Jamaicans who originally moved there....
Check today's online GLEANER -- the reports are denied by Rita/Marley Foundation.
Yes, the Observer and Gleaner both have stories on this subject. It hit the press Tuesday January 11th that Rita wants to move his body to Ethopia, the Rasta Holy Land.
Every one is having a fit over it.
I imagined they would. Having gone to Nine Mile many times, over many years, I love the fact he is there. Something magicial there, restful, quiet. He is the voice of Jamaica to many people. I am glad to hear it may not happen. It upset me to think of his resting place disturbed.
Speaking of Bob: I am trying to re-schedule a visit to TB and would like to find out about any tributes, concerts, etc going on in the area to celebrate his birthday. Does anyone know of anything or know where I can go to check? Thanks-Karen
