Much thanks to Karen and Peter Kennedy and the staff of Rainbow Point and Rainbow Tree for hosting a fabulous cocktail party on Sunday evening for the members of the Relief Committee. It was great fun to be able to get together on a social level, relax and enjoy each others company.
Not to mention the snacks were superb!

Ooops, Peace Corp Beth was inadvertently cut out of the photo so here is Miss Beth.

Hi Rebecca,

It is nice to see some events taking place in TB to bring the community together to have some time of sharing with laughter and hugs.I know it is early for some to do at this time but i assure you when the Christmas Holiday comes around you will see more of that taking place. I have something up my sleves that i would like to do to put smiles on some faces but will not say at this time what it is.I trust in God that he will enable me to carry out this mission even if (my presence is absent)I have someone in mind to do this for me.I will keep in touch.

God Bless and keep up the wonderful work you are doing. Thanks again.

Does anyone know if it is true that we can send necessary items to Jamaica 'free" via Red Cross, Fed Ex, etc.? We know everyone needs money but we also know some things are difficult to buy in Jamaica and certain items will lift the spirit of many. Did we miss the opportunity? Please post again to refresh everyone's interest. Thank you.

Thanks to Karen and Peter Kennedy of Rainbow Tree and Rainbow Point, 1,745 packets of flower seeds are being distributed throughout the greater Treasure Beach area. These seeds include 186,000 zinnia seeds, 396,000 small merigold seeds, and 396,000 large merigold seeds.

Treasure Beach is on the road to recovery and beautification!

We also would like to say kudos to Mary Normile and Scarlett Gleason from Buccaneeer for passing out much needed food items to the Greenfield and Parottee districts over the last few days.

I got a call from Karen Kennedy about 1 this afternoon saying, "Let's go see Floyd at Pelican's Bar." Since I had not been out there since Ivan passed through, I jumped at the chance.

And this is what I found . . .

The foreground is all that is left of the original bar after Ivan came through, but the background is the new and improved Pelican Bar!

We found Floyd hard at work building back up. Grand opening is October 15!

Floyd's accommodations were amazingly untouched.

Thanks Karen and Peter for sharing your first Red Stripe at Pelican Bar with me!

I can't wait to kick back in the (new) pelican bar and gossip with Floyd and Ted!
Jah willing, i'll be "home" soon ;)

I'm going to have to start saving my money now so I can go to Pelican and be one of the first people to write my message on a piece of wood in the "New Pelican Bar".

Thanks Rebecca for sharing this pix. TB.net has been my homepage for some time now. It's the first thing I see when I log on. :-)

One Love.

I just have to say it is so GOOD to see things getting back to normal.

While I am happy that the work this site and everyone else has done has helped with relief efforts (and I realize there's still much more to be done), I am really enjoying seeing the pictures of smiling sun-baked people sipping Red Stripes, info about fashion shows (yes, Rebecca, I appreciate that picture you took for me:-), posts from people asking about accomodations, and replies to Profiles.

Due to the damage on Calabash Bay Beach, the Hook 'n Line will commence at Frenchman's Beach. It starts Saturday and will conclude on Monday with the final weighing in of fish as well as a boat race. Be there!!

Big thanks, Sean Paul!
published: Friday | October 15, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

IN RECOGNITION to Sean Paul's recent donation of five million dollars to help in the aftermath of Hurricane Ivan, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate him on a job well done. It was with great admiration, that I lay on my bed and watched the event taking place.

I do hope that this will allow us to be a better supporter of him as an artiste. He really did prove himself as a true Jamaican, in the sense that he did not sit on the millions he made, but he took time out to consider giving back some of it. Mr. Henriques you are truly great and I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you on a well-deserved commendation.

Hi Rebecca,
I wish i was there for the Hook N Line Tournament festivities.I know everyone will have a nice time and i wish them well.By the way is the Frenchman Beach back to normal? I know where i usually swim " Big Sea" as they call it was a nice place to ride the waves.TB is such a nice place to come for a laid back vacation. We get away from the hustle and bustle of the north coast with their big high rise hotels and over crowding.I live in the city where i get that every day.I wish to own a piece of the pie one day in TB.Hurrricane or no Hurricane.Jamaica is no different from Florida and other U.S.coastal cities that have gone through a tough time this Hurricane Season but that is a part of life if we want to live in a Beautiful Troopical Setting all year long.
I will take that anytime over the Snow,Cold and Ice during the Winter months all over the world.
God Bless That Beautiful Island And Treasure Beach We Love You And your Wonderful Natives.
See you Soon and i can"t wait to meet that wonderful Lady "REBECCA".

It will be a long time before anything in TB is 'back to normal', however, there is sand on Frenchman's Beach, so you can still ride the waves!
