The Jonathan Hibert foundation formed an alliance with Breds - Treasure Beach Sports Park to deliver a U16 showcase with overseas college coaches. The Jonathan Hibbert Foundation, founded by Norma Hibert has awarded over 500 scholarships to talented Jamaican soccer players who meet the required SAT scores, over the past 8 years. "Norma Hibert is a true heroin who has created tremendous opportunity for hundreds of youth in Jamaica. I can think of no better way to honor the legacy of her son Jonathan.

Breds stands ready to work even closer with Mrs. Hibert and her team to deliver well structured and professional showcases. Mrs. Hibert works hard and takes the money from her own pocket to fund this annual event "

Are these scholarships available to both male and female soccer players?

Sue,

There are many more scholarships for female footballers in the US than there are for boys. The main issue for most foreign kids wanting to go to US university is the academic requirements of the NCAA, sports, and the specific university. Like Breds says there are SAT test requirements as well as the grades and classes taken. I coach women's football in US at a university and would love to come back to TB for a showcase. I made a few contacts when i was there a few weeks back.

A great partnership between The Hibbert Foundation and Munro College. (Check out some info at http://www.jhibbertfoundation.org/)

I wonder if they will extend their partnership to include Hampton School.

I hope you do go back to TB again Chris.
