I am a very religious person and often wonder if when we go to heaven, we will see our children as our children; our wives as our wives and our husbands as our husbands. I think, this memory will not be, but we will be all God's children. I think, if we put claim on others as wives/husbands or our own children, we would be continuing the selfishness/envy that we have here on earth....MY children, MY husband, MY wife etc. For those of us who do not have any childrren or husband/wife on earth, the same cycle would begin in heaven.....Can someone please help me to understand.
Sunshine I am sure you heard the saying..
Two things you should never discuss is religion and politics...
"we are all God's children" that's enough for me.
Lol, I think about that too.i think we will.
There is no god, sorry
Wow Sunshine...Deep...Let me grab a {edited by TBNet} and think about that.
Sorry God's Child!!!!! To the contrary, I think the two things that should be discussed, mulled over, meditated on, in some informed and intelligent way would be politics and religion. They both impact one's life in such profound ways.
Why would a word used to replace 'marijuana' be edited?
Christianity teaches we are all sinners but that we will be "transformed" upon the Second Coming. By that I take it that we won't recognize each other.
I myself do not subscribe to religion, nor do I believe in heaven or hell. We are really just a mass concentration of particles existing in space and time. What we think of as our own existence is merely a figment of our imagination, or our consciousness. This consciousness, and thus our "reality", ceases when this concentration is disassembled (we "die"). At that point we are indeed "transformed" into other forms of energy and really never die.
Herby you are correct! Now, are we to go on, I assume, with this conversation until the editors deem that is has gotten out of hand or has run its course? Alas I say! We have also covered this topic before and it always ends because there really will never be an end. "The past is the future and the future is the past!"
We need to read our bibles carefully as all the answers to these questions are there. The bible said that we shall be like him referrring to Jesus. We shall be changed or transformed in the twinkling of an eye. When Jesus was resurrected he returned to his disciples and when Thomas saw him he did not believe, even though it looked like Jesus. It wasn't until he saw the nail prints in his hands that he confirmed that the spirit he saw was Jesus.
Again at the Transfiguration the disciples saw spiritual men who died years ago before they were born and they recognized them. The spiritual men were Moses and Elijah. We will know each other better. We will definitely see our loved ones.
I read the Holy Quran.
Which Bible should we read? Should we read it in the original Hebrew and Greek (old and new testaments) or translated into the language we speak today by people living hundreds of years later? Should we read a version which is word for word translation, or one which uses uses literary methods to explain in current terms the original intent? I imagine there would be quite a few differences between these different versions.

Read the Holy Bible which may be translated in different versions like the King James, American Version or the Gideon.
Mohammed was not perfect. He was a man and died and has not resurrected, just like Haile Selassie. Jesus was perfect and is the Son of God. He died and is resurrected.
Thought you may find this interesting Which One.

Peace and Love. The wish we have in common.
I am Jahova Witness. When we die, we go to the ground and are dead. When Jesus comes, we all rise from the dead and live on Earth forever as young people. That is the truth. Are you excited?
I read Bertram Russell and his WHY I AM NOT A CHRISTIAN.
For real, Dog, was a word substituted for marijuana censored?
Aargh....
God's Child 2. this is exactly what I was referring to, a lot of unsavoury comments are generated. These are the same people who call on God for help when something terrible happens in their lives.
Unsavoury means that it is not to your taste GC. If you do not like, you then reject? Or censor?
We are in strange territory when reason is disregarded.
Dear God's child, I beg to differ; I did not see those comments by God's child 2 as a lot of unsavoury comments. Did you read it thoroughly? Read it again. God's child 2 is merely saying religion should be discussed, shouldn't it?
Wouldn't you want to discuss religion with someone to at least convince/persuade them to share your faith? Isn't that what followers of Christ did in the first century? The Apostle Paul, for instance, preached without letup. He used forceful and persuasive words to win his audiences from Judaism to Christianity.
Yes NAL, it was a slang word used by many Jamaicans, and also a word I have seen many times on this site. Maybe they had the itch to find something to edit I do not know. Consistency is not one of the better qualities on this site.
God;s Child, just because someone does not agree with you on how to worship their God, or even believe in a God at all you find it 'unsavory'. And by the way, how would you know if some of us call upon God when something terrible happens? The only way you would no that is if you...are GOD!
Where is God not?
Hello Non - My comments were not directed at GC2 per say, it was based on the vast amount of nonsense that I know whould follow. (IN MY VIEW).
There are no gratifications or convictions with such a platform as this.
Gloria - Lets agree with your thoughts for a fleeting moment. Since there are no consequences for our actions, what is the SOUL purpose of doing good or bad while we are on this planet.!! I can't wrap my mind around that one. We all have to account for our actions my dear lady.
There is breaking news in Frenchman right now, my thoughts are with that family.
May God of creation help us all.
Well Webmaster? So when is the end of this thread going to be ended as I predicted when it began by my post last Friday? Soon I hope.
Focus on this life it is the only one we know
What's your bag Stompy? You seem to want to short circuit the system without even a spark.
And yes Non-important, persuading people to believe in a faith as you say also seems to be the major cause of war in the world. If you don't believe by my persuasion, they off with your head!
Thank you all. I have learnt a lot. I know that we are not all believers, however, my faith is very strong in the maker. Whenever I look at how wonderful my body is made, all the organs in my body that perform these life-saving task, I cannot imagine being a mass concentration of particles..... there is nothing in this world that does not have a maker-- the car you drive, the house you own etc, I will stick to my faith. I do have a problem with religion, religion is rules while being a christina means having a relationship with GOD. I love my maker sooooo much that no one can change my mind. Only Satan would want to do it and I will not give him a chance. God has made this world for us to live in. He said be fruitful and multiply and look at what men have turned the world into---A beauty!!! Think again, Learn more about your body. thank you all, I guess it is the end of this thread.
DOG, wars and rumors of wars the Bible tells us about this. Let me shars a quick story. I took my 6 year old son to the doctor. The office was on the 5th floor with glass all around. After observing the height, he said to me, 'I don't want to sit her because I do not want to fall and die." Before I could answer him, he said, "Actually, I would not want to live forever either." I asked him why. He said, " If we could not die, people would be fighting people with stones, guns etc; cars would be bumping into one another; people would be kicking others out of their path, violence upon violence and no consequence." He said, "Mom, do you know the evil world we would be living in. This son of mine is now 20 and I have never seen him go to bed at nights or wake in the morning and don't pray. He is a very intellegent boy as well, now in university, wants to be a lawyer. wants to help people and I am proud of him. "For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten son that whoever believes in him will have everlasting life."
Deuteronomy 23:1
I admire you belief sunshine; I imagine it must be a good thing to have such firm convictions. I must point out to you, however, that core Christian beliefs (as well as Judaic) are not exactly original ideas. Accounts of The Flood, Virgin birth on December 25th, The Trinity, Resurrection, Heaven and Hell existed long ago in the ancient world. This is not to diss your religion (I don't promote one), but is only an attempt to suggest that absolutism in religous beliefs should always be accompanied by perspective.
We're getting a lot of "what about this interpretation" and "what about that interpretation" posts about this subject, and we're just not willing to host a back and forth argument about something so charged.
To those who think that Religion A is evil and have a website to prove it, there is someone to say Religion B is evil with a website to back up their point. There are plenty of other web sites that will allow you talk all day about it. Please take your discussion there.
Therefore we're not going to close this and the other religion threads.
You can say we're being a little inconsistent for allowing some posts like this in another thread and you may be right but what was a discussion has quickly deteriorated to accusations and worse and it's simply gotten to be too much.
