Well, the tournament began yesterday morning with very rainy weather. The rain and overcast conditions are usually good for fishing, however, the sea has really been kicking up which is not good for fishing.
I've heard via the grapevine that Kendog is in second with a 35 lb fish and Paolo is leading with a 37 lb. I have not heard the kind of fish that was caught. Anybody hearing anything else, please let us know!
heard the radio broadcast on go-jamaica, live and thrilled to hear kendawg's boat with howard (and peckol ?) won. Commiserations to the runners up all. Sounds like a fine fine time was had by all. Happy Heroes Day.
i think this was the winning catch....? (photo from a friend on Facebook...thanks)

You heard right J A M! The winners of the 2011 Hook n Line Tournament are Kendog Trenchfield, Howard Moxam, Lemar Gordon, and Peckal Senior with a 36 lb. amber jack.
Tied for 2nd place was Brodie and Paolo each with a 34 lb. fish, not sure of the type.
I will post all of the official results once I receive them from BREDS.
I did hear 23 boats entered the tournament this year making it the most ever. There was a great crowd on the beach yesterday evening enjoying good food, boat races, good company and good music.

Here is a good one. One of the boat that was fishing close to Howard's boat hook a fish but the fish broke the line. The same fish was caught by Howard and this was the winning fish. When they came ashore the hook from the other boat was still in the mouth of the winning fish.
That is how I got it, and I hope my story is true.
congratulation to all the winners especially our brother Kendoy.
My friend was that you I saw in one of the pictures? Looking quite distinguished. You didn't catch any fish I presume. No, I am not talking to Bowl. You know who you are.
