I recently read an article on the anti-cancer properties of the papaya leaf. One can boil the leaves to make tea.

Is this the same as papaya plant? The photo did not look like a papaya plant to me.

Does papaya leaf grow in Jamaica?

Upful you may find these articles helpful;the first 2 relate to the soursop plant which grows in jamaica and its anti-cancer properties. The third is an article about the papaya plant-this also grows in jamaica.

More evidence of paw-paw's unusual properties. It is perhaps best known as the source of papain (papa-een), an enzyme that "eats" protein -- which is why papaya or its juice extract is the main ingredient in commercial meat tenderizer, the fluid used to keep contact lenses clean, and others. It is also the only fruit or vegetable that is approved to bring into the United States.

R is quite right you can use either celery or cucumber juice or mix the two. Both are considered good for reducing high blood pressure.Fortunately I don't suffer with hypertension or high blood pressure but I know people who have found this hugely beneficial.

On importing papaya...always check with the U.S. FDA or Customs before bringing pawpaw back with you. Rules change all the time. Right now, they are not allowing in pawpaw from Mexico.
