Travelled to Milk River via Aligator Pond Rd & coastline in Febuary. Depends on vehicle; I was in a van & the driver not happy. Impossible for small car best in 4x4. Condition of the road not good especially where water drains to sea. No regular maintence. Depends on time of year; I would not chance it during the rainy season.
Oh my it's a beautiful coastline and then the morass is spectacular. Milk River Bath worth the $400 JA and meal served after 12:30PM worthy. Also went down to Farquas Beach (2 miles to the sea from Milk River Bath and wish I had more time to relaxe. Possible to have some fried fish also.
People freindly & intriqued by visitors.

Take the road via Plowden it is a bit better. But best is to drive fro Mandeville , turn off at Toll Gate. It is so beautiful there, it's well worth going

Thanks for the advice, someone else also told me that Toll Gate is the best route to take. Thanks Again.

It has been our experience since the rains in September the road from Aligator Pond to Milk River has been impassable. We would not recommend taking that road until they repair it. At this point in time going through Toll Gate would be your best alternative.

Rebecca...is the Route you're promoting from Treasure Beach to Milk River Baths/Spa still take us to Alligator Pond, where we can feast at Little Ochie...then wriggle up Northeasterly to Rest Store, then head East pass Cross Keys over 16 Mile Gully...continuing North from Pusey Hill to Retrieve at which point turn right to the Southeast towards Spring Plain where you run into the Milk River and the Road running a short distance to the Baths.
Does this not avoid having to go all the way North to Toll Gate...or are some of these roads also washed out?

That is certainly a beautiful route Zed but I haven't been past Retrieve in a long time so I cannot report on the condition of the roads from there on to Milk River. Can you tell us? I went up to Retrieve about 1 1/2 years ago and actually was amazed at how good the road conditions were.

With the new highway I think the quickest route would be to drive past Mandeville and turn at Toll Gate, but for sure the more scenic would be the one you suggest.

Either from Alligator Pond or from the Milk River Spa end, no matter how much macca scratch up car, unless the road craters are literally swallowing the vehicle, we try to get as far as we can on the coastal road...so much peaceful beauty to discover throughout the Canoe Valley. Always on the lookout for Taino artifacts and alert to not tumbling into God's Hole.

Haven't been up to Retrieve in a while, but had no problems driving there from Alligator Pond in the dry season.

I heard the baths were closed due to disrepair! So it is open?
