thanks for all your info re. car hire . We have now booked the flights,and our accommodation in TB. Am now looking for ideas on an itinerary for the drive south. Have driven around previously in jamaica so know hopefully what to expect. We will arrive in Mo Bay around five in the afternoon. Rightly or wrongly and having not been my impression of montego bay is not positive, but we will have to pitch up for a night or two nearby, perhaps a half hour or so away , are their any good relaxed places to stay that can be recommended. i'm sure Mo bay is not all bad, so i guess we could explore for a day or so and the maybe take the country rather than the coast route into TB. Again if anybody can suggest a interesting place to stop for that second leg of the journey that also would be great.

You REALLY do not want to drive to TB in the dark if you have never done that before. I am sure you will get numerous responses on where to stay but there is a hotel just past Margaritaville on the left that would be fine. I do not remember the name or have any idea of the price. Jerry

We stayed at Richmond Hill once on the way back from TB; it was affordable and very nice. It's quiet, away from the hubbub of the city. The view is beyond amazing.
