In October 2008, Breds held a fundraising concert for the missing fishermen (Kevin, Omar,Wayne and Gary), the concert was not as successful due to the weather conditions, however due to generous donations, we collected $500,000.00 which is distributed among the eight children of these men. Each child receives $62,500.00. This money is however used for their educational goals, which includes paying of school fee, purchase of books and back to school supplies. This money is distributed at the beginning of the school terms and will last for 2 years and 1 school term.
We would like to thank all the persons who contributed.
Thank you Breds for stepping up and announcing this wonderful news on this forum. I know that many, many people who read this will appreciate knowing what your fundraising efforts accomplish and we hope to hear more in the future. Big up to transparency! Now will you kindly let us know how much money has been raised for the sports park so far and how it is being spent?
breds, the timing of this announcement is Is this timely, although it's 5 months after the event. Who's your PR rep/ advisor?...this is transparent.
BREDS does a lot in the area but they seem big on starting things and sometimes weak on finishing theings and weak on reporting things. The repeater and antenna is example. Its something BREDS started. Then I don't know what happened but Kory South ended up fixing it when it got broke again. Kory even payed from his pocket not from donations which I dont feel is fair. The fundraiser for the sishermen kids is example. BREDS raised a big amount but they dodnt bother to tell us and it is we who helped raise some of that money. Anabell Todd had to be the one to say whats happening with the sports park. BREDS sure has computers what you can see. So why doesnt they make reports when it is the right time. I dont understan, why they dont tell us the ambulanse was in the shop for many months.
Agree with you Big Up. I'd sure like to know more about the sports park progress too.
That's okay Hooked on TB. It's been at least 3 YEARS since their website has been updated. Interesting about all these last minute announcements coming around the same time as the seaplane controversy. It could be a coincidence, though I kind of doubt that.
