Airport Links

Jamaica has two international airports: Norman Manley International (KIN) in Kingston and Donald Sangster International (MBJ) in Montego Bay. Recently a new carrier, Spirit Air, has come out with some very good ticket prices to Montego Bay.

We recommend flying into Montego Bay. Transportation to Treasure Beach is cheaper -- approx. US$140 vs. US$200 (for up to four passengers), the ride is shorter --2-3 hours vs. 3-4 hours, and the route is much more scenic and does not take you through the traffic of downtown Kingston.

Transfers to and from the airport can be arranged through your guesthouse/villa, tour operators, rental car agency, or public transport. We recommend the first two options as these guarantee someone will be waiting for you at the airport who knows the way here.

A word of caution: because of our remote location, not all taxi drivers know exactly where we are located even though they may say they do. If you do plan to hire a driver when you arrive, look for the Authorized Taxis sign at the airport. Authorized drivers have professional training and the necessary insurance to carry passengers.

It may be possible to hire an unauthorized taxi for a cheaper price, but do so at your own risk. The following is a list of major airlines which fly to Jamaica.

In addition, there are several charter services available. Please consult your local travel agent for further information.

Airlines:

Air Canada
Air Jamaica/Delta
American Airlines
BWIA Int'l Ltd.
British Airways

REMEMBER: The departure tax of $27 US is now included in the purchase price of your ticket and is no longer collected at the airport. The only exception may be if you are flying on a charter flight..
