Berry the artist

The beautiful Berry Berenson was the widow of the actor Tony Perkins and a stylish photographer. [She was] the sister of film star Marisa Berenson. Their grandmother had been the famed couturier Elsa Schiaparelli. After Berenson's marriage to Perkins, she concentrated on their sons, Osgood and Elvis. In fact, she was en route back to L.A. to watch her Elvis perform in a nightclub...I had known Berry and Marisa Berenson for more than 35 years. My heart goes out to them, and to Oz and Elvis and their legion of friends.

A thousand words could not convey, so just a few... Berry was the most loving, compassionate, and sincere person to grace both our lives. We will both miss her person, but her spirit remains with us, and we look forward to seeing her again one day. Guidance on your journey Berry and may your love be the light that guides you. one love

I met Berry in Treasure Beach at Jake's the night of the 1st of January 1995, it is 7 years ago and my best friend Coot was around. The first time I met my friend Berry it was like we know each other since a long long time, may be because she speaks my language ! -french- or just because she is Berry ...I see forever her fabulous smile, her beautiful blue eyes looking at me and to the world with her heart full of Love. My Berry I'm praying for you, for Coot, for Osgood, for Elvis, for your Mam and for your sister and I say that you deserve all the LOVE from God same way you gave it to us....Shorly in french now I want to say to Berry : maintenant tu vas pouvoir rencontrer my daddy et je vous sens tous les deux ? mes c?t?s pour l'?ternit?. Je t'aime.

Berry was a true gift! I feel so fortunate to have had her in my life. She radiated warmth and kindness...and had an inner spirit that touched the lives of everyone she encountered. Berry, I hope you knew how much I loved you. I don't think you were aware of how deeply you impacted my life. You gave me hope when I thought things were hopeless. You inspired me and gave me courage to face my weaknesses, for which I am forever grateful. You were a true friend...always lending an ear, or providing a hug when I needed it most. Your untimely death has affected us all. I can't imagine Treasure Beach without you! You've become an integral part of the community. As devastated as I am about your passing, I'm comforted knowing that you lived a life surrounded by people who truly loved and cared for you. Please know that you will forever live within my soul. Good-bye Miss Berry...may you rest in peace...

Oh Berry...you are truly an angel if ever there was one. Candles will burn in my yard tomorrow night and the glow will reflect your beautiful face, your amazing spirit, your grace and love for all life had to give. I have my toe ring on, and the circle will be unbroken. I have more strength and courage in this confusing world from knowing you, and we will meet again someday.
-Lisa

Berry was a beautiful woman who was very dear to me. A few months ago she helped me through a difficult period in life. I'm thankful I got the chance to get so close to her and share so much pain and laughter with this wonderful woman. Please give my condolences to Coot and all the people who knew her. Bye Berry, thanks for the love you gave me, I'll never forget you.

She was the most loving and beautiful person I've ever met, full of goodness and love, always helpful and giving to everyone she met. It is a great loss to this whole world, not to mention myself. There is only one thought I find comfort in right now, I know her spirit is happy right now, she is definitely in a better place than this world. I will always keep her in a special place of my heart.
-Gabriele, Treasure Beach

i always admired berry's style and grace. i identified with berry because she came to treasure beach the same year that i did, we were age mates and blondes. we loved men from the same family. she was a person who knew how to take a bite out of the rosy apple of life. she lit up our world and made wherever she went a better place. although i was not close to berry i loved her laughter and commonsensical approach to wha'g'wan. buddhism teaches that when we die we go to another level of existence that reflects our most recent life. there is a heavenly place called the diva realm. it is a more subtle place than this human world of suffering and joy. but there is still work of the spirit going on there. i'm sure berry is there now enjoying a blissful time. perhaps her spirit can look into our world in the recent time since she left us and see all the love and beauty in the hearts of her friends and loved ones. berry, you will be blessed and you will be missed.

Berry now is in heaven, the most perfect angel God could have ever called upon. He has chosen well. But even knowing this, still fills our hearts and souls with great sadness as she was taken away from us prematurely and tragically. We all will miss her deeply. All Our Love

Rebecca words cannot convey the sadness I feel at the loss of your friend...think of the good times I am sure there were many.
-Fisherman's Friend

I can`t say that we were close friends but I knew her since my first visit to Treasure Beach and we were getting more familiar with each other by my coming back year after year. We talked on the streets or in the bakery and I liked her gentle way. I remember those days in '99 when I stayed for a couple of month in T.B. - I saw Berry and Coot working so hard at her new guesthouse and she showed me the results with proudness.I want to give my condolences to Coot, Rebecca , and Berry's family and friends.
- Jui a.k.a. uwe

I am so glad to have met her after hearing my Mother speak so highly of her. In August I had the pleasure of spending time with her at her home in Treasure Beach. Someone had injured her dog Marley whom she loved dearly. Along with two of my friends we tried really hard to put neosporin on the dogs injury. We all tried to help this dog. I saw for myself the love she had for the simplest life, that of a dog she loved dearly. I can say that I thank God for the hour or so I had to spend with her, to hear her laughter and to see her smile. My love to those grieving her loss, May God Be with you all in comfort.
-Dee Dee

My own interactions with her were few and brief, but she was always kind and friendly. And such a smile!! It was always clear to me what a difference she made for those around her. I send my condolences to Coot and Junior, and all who knew and loved her. Please know that there are people everywhere grieving for your loss. It is a small, small world. One love...
-Jenni
