Is by sharing it with friends

Hide & Seek
By Dr. John H. Sklare
Monday, January 15, 2007
Remember playing hide & seek when you were young, where one person was the “seeker” and the others hid, trying not to be found? I’m sure that you do as I think it’s a universal tradition in childhood. I particularly remember the excitement of playing at dusk outside. This game came to mind when I witnessed a group of neighborhood children playing this just yesterday. It was then that I realized that there was a lesson to be learned from this game regarding weight loss and healthy living.
The lesson is simple. Before you eat any food, close your eyes and count to ten, just like in the game of hide and seek. This will allow you to hide that tempting food from site as you seek some inner wisdom. The point of counting to 10 is that it interrupts the MEE Syndrome (Mindless Emotional Eating) and provides precious time for you to evaluate your choices. When it comes to living an unhealthy life, you definitely don’t want to be IT!
Wishing You Great Health,
Dr. John H. Sklare
"Every one must have felt that a cheerful friend is like a sunny day, which sheds its brightness on all around; and most of us can, if we choose, make of this world either a palace or a prison."

Do You Walk The Walk?
Daily Inspiration
By Dr. John H. Sklare
If you’re one of those people who constantly promise yourself that you are going to start exercising one day, why not make today that day? And I have the perfect suggestion for your first project. Begin by walking. Walking is a wonderful exercise and takes no special equipment. You can do it anywhere and it is one of the least costly activities available. All you need are some comfortable clothes and a good pair of walking shoes. Of course, check with your doctor, but I’m confident that almost all of you can partake in this energizing activity. As a general rule, experts suggest a brisk walk of about 30 minutes a day for best results, but any walking is better than none.
Walking is fairly easy on the body as well as it’s an activity that is relatively injury free. It will allow you, just to name a few advantages, to increase your muscle tone, reduce your stress level, give you more energy, improve your sleep, and help you lose weight to boot! So if you’re finally ready to begin giving your body and your spirit a healthy makeover, I suggest you put on those walking shoes and head outside for some fresh air and exercise. Make today the day you stop talking the talk and start walking the walk!
Wishing You Great Health,
Dr. John H. Sklare
There is no happiness in having and getting, but only in giving - half the world is on the wrong scent in the pursuit of happiness.

"Loving should be fun and self-improving, not self-reducing and
servile."

There is no need to go to India or anywhere else to find peace. You will find that deep place of silence right in your room, your garden or even your bathtub.
~Elisabeth Kubler-Ross
Sometimes...
when you cry...
no one sees your tears.
Sometimes...
when you are in pain...
no one sees your hurt.
sometimes...
when you are worried..
no one sees your stress.
Sometimes...
when you are happy..
no one sees your smile.
Do all the good you can,
in all the ways you can,
to all the souls you can,
in every place you can,
at all the times you can,
With all the zeal you can,
as long as ever you can.”
John Wesley, 1703-1791
"We've got this gift of love, but love is like a precious plant....You've got to keep watering it. You've got to really look after it and nurture it."
--John Lennon
SMILING IS INFECTIOUS
Smiling is infectious,
you catch it like the flu,
When someone smiled at me today,
I started smiling too.
I passed around the corner
and someone saw my grin
When he smiled I realized
I'd passed it on to him .
I thought about that smile
then I realized its worth,
A single smile, just like mine
could travel round the earth.
So, if you feel a smile begin,
don't leave it undetected
Let's start an epidemic quick,
and get the world infected!
