"Beginning today, treat everyone you meet as if they were going to be dead by midnight. Extend to them all the care, kindness, and understanding you can muster, and do it with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again."

BELIEVE

Believe in yourself. That is the secret to self-confidence and ultimately the secret to success. If you believe you will succeed, you will. When you believe in yourself, failures no longer hurt.

Let's say you aim to win a marathon race, and you come in third place instead of first. Did you win or lose? What makes third place a failure is the sense that one has let oneself down. If you believe in yourself, you know you did your best. You simply cannot lose when you believe in yourself.

~David Leonhardt~

"Refuse to fall down.
If you cannot refuse to fall down,
refuse to stay down.
If you cannot refuse to stay down,
lift your heart toward heaven,
and like a hungry beggar,
ask that it be filled,
and it will be filled.
You may be pushed down.
You may be kept from rising.
But no one can keep you
from lifting your heart
toward heaven..."

Clarissa Pinkola Estés
Author of Women Who Run With The Wolves

Rise…

You are going to slip

No doubt, or trip and fall,

be put or pushed Down.

Perhaps flat on your

Face, kissing the old earth,

From which you came.

And that’s not so bad.

But until you MUST

Return—dust to earth—

You MUST drag yourself

Up—a rising piece of clay—

And let the wind of

Heaven’s Sweet goodness,

Pick you up

and Rise, and Rise.

"The only way to live is to accept each minute as an unrepeatable miracle, which is exactly what it is - a miracle and unrepeatable."

Hey funny girl, here are the words (and remember the days when "gay"meant happy).

"Monday's child is fair of face..."
by Mother Goose

Monday's child is fair of face,
Tuesday's child is full of grace;
Wednesday's child is full of woe,
Thursday's child has far to go;
Friday's child is loving and giving,
Saturday's child works hard for its living;
But the child that is born on the Sabbath day
Is bonny and blithe, and good and gay.

And joy will come...

It’s out there…somewhere…behind the storm clouds, through the horrors of war…beyond the shadows of prejudice and hate…It’s there…often deep in the core of the human spirit that has resilience, that can persevere… and joy will come…

THESE ARE MY WISHES FOR YOU

May you find serenity and tranquility
in a world you may not always understand.

May the pain you have known
and the conflict you have experienced
give you the strength to walk through life
facing each new situation with courage and optimism.

Always know that there are those
whose love and understanding will always be there,
even when you feel most alone.

May a kind word,
a reassuring touch,
and a warm smile
be yours every day of your life,
and may you give these gifts
as well as receive them.

May the teachings of those you admire
become part of you,
so that you may call upon them.

Remember, those whose lives you have touched
and who have touched yours
are always a part of you,
even if the encounters were less than you would have wished.
It is the content of the encounter
that is more important than its form.

May you not become too concerned with material matters,
but instead place immeasurable value
on the goodness in your heart.
Find time in each day to see beauty and love
in the world around you.

Realize that what you feel you lack in one regard
you may be more than compensated for in another.
What you feel you lack in the present
may become one of your strengths in the future.
May you see your future as one filled with promise and possibility.
Learn to view everything as a worthwhile experience.

May you find enough inner strength
to determine your own worth by yourself,
and not be dependent
on another's judgment of your accomplishments.

May you always feel loved.
