“Often what we dream about and pray for doesn't take the form that we think it 'should.' This is the time that we need to call upon our 'inner wisdom' ... to see beyond the physical and recognize true gifts when they… appear on our doorstep.”
~Chelle Thompson~

"Animals have these advantages over man: they never hear the clock strike, they die without any idea of death, they have no theologians to instruct them, their last moments are not disturbed by unwelcome and unpleasant ceremonies, their funerals cost them nothing, and no one starts lawsuits over their wills.— Voltaire"

“I live in a world I often do not quite understand, but I continue to seek and celebrate whatever moment of peace and tranquility there is. The pain I’ve often known and the conflict I’ve often experienced give me strength to walk through life, facing each new situation with courage and optimism. In fact, quite often it’s during a dark period that my consciousness expands and an extraordinary project breaks its bonds, and I’m aroused to an unexpected freshness—a surprising new way of looking at the world. Then, I am always assured that to as many folks that wish me bad there is at least one whose love and understanding will always be there, even when I feel most alone, most crushed. I strive to discover enough goodness and trust in others to believe in a world of peace and good intention. I am grateful for every kind word, every reassuring touch, and every warm smile that comes my way, and my endeavor is to extend these willingly and gracefully to others. “

GOOD TIMES

When you lose all hope, when things seem bleakest, when life seems like
it can't scratch you up any more, there is one thing you can always
reach for: Good thoughts, good memories--memories of things that did work well, memories of times you loved, memories of beauty you have seen or felt. Good memories allow you to feel joy in the midst of sorrow. Good memories allow you to feel a hug when you are alone. Good memories allow you to smell a rose, even when the snow is two feet deep.

Pull out some good and positive memories today, and relive the best that life has to
offer (so far).

"Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, vision cleared, ambition inspired, and success achieved."

"The best index to a person’s character is (a) how he treats people who can’t do him any good, and (b) how he treats people who can’t fight back."
— Abigail van Buren (Pauline Esther Friedman)
