I was about six or seven years old when I first saw it... written on a tombstone at the Pedro Plains Anglican Church... A man, not great, but good... These words were used to describe the late Teacher Henry, Glen's father. Today, as I write this condolence message to both Mrs. Henry and to Bernard, I am reminded that those same words could be used to describe Glen. He was hard working, caring and showed tremendous compassion when it was required. He lived his life in a way that the community was blessed to have him in their midst.

Mrs. Henry and Bernard you are both in my prayers, please take comfort in the fact that God's promises to us are true...."Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted". I will remember Glen Henry as long as I live, I have certainly been a great benefactor of his kindness and compassion. He was a good man.

Walk good my friend...I will miss you.

A POEM DEDICATED TO MR. HENRY'S FAMILY AND LOVED ONES:

THE HOPE IN DEATH

There’s beauty even in death
Where one sleeps free
With the tranquility of innocence;

There is love even in death
Where love remains, flourishes
As we are bounded by loving memories;

There is protection even in death
Where Death is our sanctuary
From the woes of life;

There is comfort even in death
Where there’s no pain, no grief, no tear
And where there’s relief from sorrow;

There is peace even in death
Where one lies free from horrors and terrors
And awaits eternal bliss;

There is an unwavering hope in death
where one awaits the glorious resurrection;
and the death of DEATH, forever;

`Kye Nam~

I extend sympathy to Mrs. Henry and family on the passing of a very outstanding community person in the form of Mr.Henry. He rendered a helping hand in so many aspects of community life that made him a stickler for development and the well-being of others. God will bless the family to continue this life as we all draw closer to eternity.

On behalf of the Ford clan I extend deepest and sincere condolence to Cousin Zel, Bernard and his family at the passing of one who was very near and dear to them.Death is never easy regardless of how much we expect one to depart.But in the midst of your sorrow you can find comfort in the one that you and "mass" Glen has trusted and served.Therefore you do not sorrow as those without hope because you have the blessed assurance from the word of God that we will all meet again in a better place.A place where death and grief will be no more. You have all been faced with much grief in recent times but hold on and keep trusting in the Lord. The Lord knows the steps you take ..they are all ordered by Him and He has also provided the grace that You need at this time. I am so sorry that I am not able to be with you all at this time but my family and I continue to hold you up in prayers. Weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning. We love you all very much.

My dear Zel,
Mais phoned me yesterday and gave me an update on Glens funeral.I am so very sorry I was unable to attend.I continue to uphold you in my prayers,and I know that God will give you His strength,grace and peace at this time.Hope you received my condolence card and also letter sent by Beulah and Ray.Glen may be gone but he will never be forgotten by the many lives he touched with his kindness and love.When I visited in the good old days he would bring me all the lovely fruits and other goodies he knew I could not get in Canada,or he would take me to the Farm to show me his Goats and other animals.Another beautiful memory I have of him are the times he would walk from his house over to the trees by the Church where we were studying for exams,and we were always glad to see him because he always had some joke to tell.Thank God for the lovely memories which will always be with me.I will phone soon.Thinking of you.
Love and memories,
Kitty.
P.S Please give my love to Bernard and family in which Bert joins.
