Our sincere condolences to the Spence family from the Hamiltons' in Treasure Beach on the passing of Miss Imie. We have fond memories of her, she was famous for her delicious Cornmeal Pone. She was a very diligent and a hardworking individual. She has beautiful children, who we grew up with and used to socialize with as children. She was very fit, always moving fast to get around. We will always have fond memories that will live on. Keep hope and God Bless.

FROM MISS SHEILA AND CHILDREN

Miss Imie you were special to me, for years I have not seen your face, you were always in my thoughts may your soul rest in peace.
Carmen, Edith, Lola, Gloria, Lovell, Elsie and Jurdine my hearfelt sympathy to all of you during this time of sorrow.
May you find comfort in reading this poem.

Remember that your
loss is shared
by many friends who care
and that you're in our
thoughts and hearts
and in our every prayer

May you find the courage
to face tomorrow
in the love that surrounds
you today.

May the love of friends and family
be a source of comfort to you
at this time

At this time of sorrow
may these truths sustain you..
...your loved one will always be
as close as a memory
and the God of all comfort
is always as close as a prayer.

It will be the little things
that you will remember
the quiet moments, the smiles,
the laughter.
And although it may
seem hard right now,
it will be the memory
of these little things
that help to push away the pain
and bring the smiles back again

Love Lives On

Those we love are never really lost to us--
we feel them in so many special ways--
through friends they always cared about
and dreams they left behind,
in beauty that they added to our days...
in words of wisdom we still carry with us
and memories that never will be gone...
Those we love
are never really lost to us--
for everywhere their special love lives on.
~

Just to let you know
how very sorry I am

In memory of a dear mother who was beautiful inside and out. She loved all of her children equally and unconditionally. Mother was kind and pleasant to all the individuals with whom she interacted and she lived an exemplary life.

REST IN PEACE MY MOTHER

Where does one go upon their death?
Many often stop to ponder
For those who ask, answers are clear
We are not left to wonder.

Life in the great hereafter,
In faith, we must accept;
The breath goes out, back to dust we go
Is a truth we can’t neglect.

And on that sweet and glorious morn
When Jesus calls their name
They awake in a kinder, better place
In a world of no more pain.

My sympathy goes out to Carmen, Lenny, Lovell, Jurdene, Gloria, Lola, Elsie, Edith and the rest of the Spence family on the passing of Ms. Imie. My wish for you at this time is to continue to focus on the Kingdom hope as is reflected in the song below:

Song 222

Keep Your Eyes on the Prize!

(2 Corinthians 4:18)

When eyes of blind ones see again

And ears of deaf ones hear again,

When deserts blossom as the rose

And from parched ground fresh water flows,

When lame ones leap just like the hart,

When loved ones never have to part

—Such blessed times you’ll realize

If you keep your eyes on the prize.

When tongues of mute ones speak again,

When old ones will be young again,

When earth will yield her rich increase

And all good things will never cease,

When songs of children fill the air,

When joy and peace are ev’rywhere,

Then, too, you’ll see the dead arise

If you keep your eyes on the prize.

When wolves and lambs will feed as one,

When bears and calves bask in the sun,

A mere young boy will lead them all,

And they will heed his childish call.

When tears belong to yesterday,

When fears and pain have passed away,

You’ll see how God these things supplies

If you keep your eyes on the prize.

I was not aquainted with Ms Imie but if her children that attended Newell school are any reflection of who she was , then she was a wonderful soul. The Spences' were very mannerable ,decent, and respected students. I am sure all the past students of Newell would join with me to extend our sympathies to the entire family. Elsie, your conduct in class was excellent and I strongly believe that your mom played a part. May the Lord bless her soul.

To Miss Imy's family--remember the HOPE

THE PROMISED PARADISE

Where does one go upon his death?
Many often stop to ponder
For those who ask, answers are clear
We are not left to wonder.

Life in the great hereafter,
In faith, we must accept;
The breath goes out, back to dust we go
Is a truth we can’t neglect.

Our loved ones gone before us
In their dark and lonely bed
Are resting in a sweet death-sleep
That’s what the Bible said.

And on that sweet and glorious morn
When Jesus calls their names
They’ll awake in a kinder, better place
In a world of no more pain.

So we look toward that promise
Which the Bible holds out for us.
To be with Christ in Paradise
What a great hope it is for us!

~Adalcie Nembhard~

Texts That Comfort

Time and again, in explaining how they have coped with their grief, faithful Christians have said: “Let me tell you my favorite Bible text.” If you are grieving, maybe some of these scriptures will also help you.

“Blessed be . . . the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation.”—2 Corinthians 1:3, 4.

“You are opening your hand and satisfying the desire of every living thing.”—Psalm 145:16.

“He [God] has set a day in which he purposes to judge the inhabited earth in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed, and he has furnished a guarantee to all men in that he has resurrected him from the dead.”—Acts 17:31.

“I—I myself am the One that is comforting you people.”—Isaiah 51:12.

“Like a man whom his own mother keeps comforting, so I myself shall keep comforting you people.”—Isaiah 66:13.

“This is my comfort in my affliction, for your own saying has preserved me alive. I have remembered your judicial decisions from time indefinite, O Jehovah, and I find comfort for myself. May your loving-kindness serve, please, to comfort me, according to your saying to your servant.”—Psalm 119:50, 52, 76.

“The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life.”—John 5:28, 29.

My sympathy goes out to the late Imie Spence. Miss Imie Spence was the best mother-in-law any one could ask for and I am sure all her in-laws will agree. She had a large heart that extended to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. I was so happy to have her stay with my wife Carmen, myself, and our two children Armstrong and Craig last year, for six months. Those are treasured moments that will stay with us forever.
Miss Imie’s greatest wish was for her entire family to serve Jehovah; our family is working on it. On Resurrection day, you shall see our smiling faces.

The grief we all feel today will someday depart but the memories of you Granny, will always and forever be the closest to my heart.
Miss Imie was like a grandmother,a mother,a sister a very close friend to me, one who was always willing to be there for me,at ANY time. It pains my heart to know she is gone but it hurts even more when she suffered.
I am convinced that she is among the Great Crowd soon to inherit Paradise, and as Jesus had said of his friend Lazarus, she too is just resting. It is my view, that Miss Imie was old and very much satisfied with with her life, therefore,I anticipate the moment of joy to see her when Jehovah resurrect her to perfect happy life, on a cleansed earth.
As a family, we mourn together, but as was Miss Imie's dream, as a family, how thrilled she would be to see us all living happily forever.
May Jehovah continue to bless us all,and i'm sure, his undeserved kindness will always be extended to us all.

Keven,Debbie/Selena James

Words cannot express our appreciation for the kind words, the encouragement and the support we have received form all of you. We would like every one to know that our mom
Spend six month in the hospital sometimes in excruciating pain but she was never discourage or was she afraid of dying. Of the hundreds of visitors that she got each one would say “instead of us encouraging her we would leave being encourage by her". Our mom was our hero, we loved her very much and one of the many things we treasured is that we were all able to tell her that we love her and will always love her before she took her last breath. We are happy to say she died very peaceful at 5: 50 pm on Thursday 19, 2006.
We would all like to share with you all the reason our mom said she refuse to be discourage or be afraid of dying.

I refuse to be discourage,
To be sad, or to cry:
I refuse to be downhearted,
And here’s the reason why:

I have a God who’s mighty—
Who’s sovereign and supreme:
I have a God who loves me,
And I am on his team.

He is all-wise and powerful—
Jehovah is His name:
Though everything is changeable,
My God remain the same.

My God knows all that’s happening—
Beginning to the end:
His presence is my comfort;
He is my dearest Friend.

When sickness comes to weaken me—
To bring my head down low,
I call upon my mighty God;
Into His arms I go.

When circumstances threaten
To rob me of my peace,
He draws me close unto His breast
Where all my strivings cease.

When my heart melts within me,
And weakness takes control,
He gathers me into His arms--
He soothes my heart and soul.
The great “I AM” is with me --
My life is in His hand;
The “God of Jacob” is my hope;
It’s in His strength I stand.

I refuse to be defeated—
My eyes are on my God’
He his promised to be with me
As through this life I trod.

I’m looking past all my circumstances
To Heaven’s throne above;
My prayers have reached the heart of God--
I’m resting in His love.

I give God thanks in everything--
My eyes are on His face;
The battle’s His, the vict’ry mine,
He’ll help me win the race.
