Ketura Clark

Father God has called his beloved daughter Ketura Clarke (Cathy, Tura) home. Ketura passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends – knowing that she was loved beyond measure. In remembrance of Ketura’s sunrise (September 20, 1935) and in honour of her sunset (May 31, 2013) her family would like to share the below poem, because we know she has gone home and is more beautiful than ever.

Ketura is survived by her children (Sonia, Maureen, Jack), sons-in-law (Delvin, Vernon), daughter-in-law (Mabel-Lee), grandchildren (Mark, Delvin, Mia, Patrice, O’neil, Shaddae), great-grandchildren (Kylan, Kayden, Sohini , Ishan), sisters (Hilma, Yvette), nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Do not Stand at My Grave and Weep
By M. Frye

Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there, I did not die.

Could the family post funeral services and location here for those who live in Canada and would like to attend. Miss Tura was well known in the Treasure Beach community before she went to live in Canada. May her soul rest in peace.

My dearest departed sister kethurah(Cathy) your time had come to leave this worldly abobe for a much better place, to rest your weary sole in "heaven". I will forever cherish all of the joyful and very fond memories of our times as siblings growing together, and sharing ideas, helping each other through hard times as we grow into adulthood, you were my inspiration, and a shoulder to lean on when things got tough, you were generous and kind to me,you always made sure that your children and immediate family was provided for,and had enough of all the things needed to live a, fullfilling and happy life. I am so glad and proud, to know you were my big sister.Your children Sonia, Maureen and Jack will take comfort from knowing that you were a dedicated and a devoted mother,popular amongst family and friends,you were loved by all those who were fortunate to have met you.Your good name will live on through your children and your many grandchildren.I know you as being conscientious and hard working too, you and I worked at some of the guests houses in treasurebeach and later spent many happy years catering for the guests at the treasurebeach hotel.I will always miss you my beautiful, loving and, considerate sister. I loved you dearly but god loves you more "bye bye my beloved sister rest in peace with those of our loved ones who went on before," until we meet again "in heaven".

Hilma and Richard

We: Sonia, Maureen and Jack would like to express our sincere thank you and appreciation, to all the family and friends that attended our mothers memorial services at Turner & Porter Funeral Home in Canada, and Treasure Beach Church of God in Jamaica.

We had wonderful memorial services that celebrated our mother’s life, and the tributes from various family members and friends were truly touching. Moreover, it was lovely to be able to gather after the memorial services for receptions that enabled us to console one another, and remember the beautiful and graceful person that our mother was.

Once again, thank you for you all your support and may God Bless You.

It truly was a beautiful memorial service for Tura with many people in attendance, including a large group of folks from Treasure Beach.

It was clear to see from the collage of pictures, that she was a loving person and was truly loved and admired by her family.

(Imagine this poem was written by your beloved mom.....To my children)

If I should go tomorrow
It would never be goodbye,
For I have left my heart with you,
So don’t you ever cry.

The love that’s deep within me,
Shall reach you from the stars,
You’ll feel it from the heavens,
And it will heal the scars.
