We would like to say how proud we are of our daughter Samantha from Lewis Town for passing her exams and qualifying as a medical doctor. You worked hard and followed your dreams.I wish that your grandfather Ebus was around to see this special day.

Cherry B and Manny

How ridiculous! Using a nom de plume to congratulate your daughter!

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Rebecca on Saturday, May 26, 2012 - 12:28 am: Edit Post

I wouldn't even know Cherry B's real name. But I most certainly know Cherry B and Manny. Who could forget that high top red bus with Cherry B written across the top! And the Cherry B Movie Theater!!

Congratulations Samantha for your great achievement and congratulations to her proud parents Cherry B and Manny.

No nom de plume here!

Spooky Dude,[edited by TB.Net] I have certainly felt some of the things you have said on TreasureBeach.net were interesting or amusing or even pleasantly controversial. This comment about a graduate's mother using a nom de plume when she has clearly stated both her and her husband's first names but not their surnames might be your attempt at humor but it falls short and appears mean spirited. I would suggest Cherry B's first name IS Cherry. I doubt your first name is Spooky or your surname is Dude. I believe Cherry, Manny and Samantha are owed an apology by you.

I totally agree with you Kaye from lewis town.If any other names were used to describe this family, hardly any one would know who they are.Never will forget those trips to Jim Lilly in Gutters St.Elizabeth on the red Charry B. congratulations Samantha....So proud of you.
Big up Manny and Cherry B

Rebeccca and Eric thanks for keeping a forum that is a light on the community and the world.

Like the world, it reminds us that there is good bad and ugly everywhere.

Who see know.

Congrats to Samantha.

We see you Spooky, hope if we meet in the real world it is on a day you have something informative to say [edited by TB.Net].

One Love,

Well, Cherry B, and Manny did not sound like real names, much like Spooky D. I did not intend to be mean-spirited or funny; it just seemed that this was a case of using an alias at the wrong time. My error which I regret, but it would have been nice if persons unfamiliar with these names could have identified who the post was about.

Spooky Dude, instead of making a halfhearted apology ("My error which I regret, BUT") how about saying you are sorry and ending it there. For once.

Thank you to Vexed for saying what I was thinking and what I imagine a lot of others were thinking. {edited by TBNet} This started as a lovely string to congratulate someone who has accomplished more than I know I ever will. I feel glad for her even though I do not know her, and if I was her parent I would be so proud I would probably be dancing in the street.

From here on in this thread will only be for comments to Samantha and/or her parents. This is a great achievement and should be justly recognized.

If you have any comments pertaining to anything else, please start a new thread.

Dr. Sylvester, I do not know who you are and I do not care to know. It is not the name that has done the job, it is you, whoever you are. What I care about is that someone has made herself and Jamaica proud. You will be an asset to Jamaica. You go girl!!!

Samantha, you have demonstrated in a big way what your parents have instilled in you, discipline and the benefits of pursuing an education. I remember when you were going to school in Jamaica and your dad would tell me that his goal was to get you the best education possible whether in Jamaica or abroad. He use to tell us while on the bus that he wishes all the kids could just be in school. I am proud of your parents first and foremost for laying the educational foundation, the best gift any parent can give a child. Samantha, I say congratulations, and all the best in your endeavours and continue to make yourself and your parents proud.

Karen

I would just like to thank everyone for all the good wishes and congratulations that I have received in the last few weeks, I feel truly humbled. I have always wanted to become a doctor since I was a child and finally my dream has come true. I just wish my grandfather was here to celebrate with us. It’s a great feeling to know all the hard work and late nights was worth it and more importantly God answered my prayers. I hope that many others in Treasure Beach who have the opportunity will realise that through God all things are possible and strive to achieve their dreams.
Thank you everyone

Samantha, I don't believe I've ever met you but I'd like to add my congratulations on your accomplishment.

When I saw that you had achieved your dream of becoming a doctor, I was reminded of the students who write our profiles and list what they want to be in life. A lot of them put down 'doctor'. You're living proof that they have the ability to achieve that goal with hard work and the support of their friends and family.
