Miss Mag was a very respectable woman, and as a young girl attending Sandy Bank School I admired her and the job she performed at the nearby post office.
I would look forward in going to the post office just to see her, and to ask her if the mailman and brought me books from the main library, or letters from my pen pals. She knew my name well and she knew why I was there, she always had something pleasant to say to me.
It was through her I met her beautiful daughter Peggy and a bond was formed, until time and age separated us. So to Peggy and Basil I fondly remember you and your family today for the kind and good hearted people you are, and for a woman who served her community well, I say good bye.

Aunt Mag,you will forever be that beautiful rose in our garden. May you find eternal peace. You are truly missed, gone but not forgotten. We remember your love, your smile, your kind words, the dresses that you sewed for us as children and the list never ends. We were very proud to know that you were the post mistress and so after school Sharon, Mark and I would rush to the post office proudly to see you and "show off" that you were our aunt, although we had to wait our turn. I know you will meet with Mama(Vanetta), Uncle Derick and Uncle Noel in heaven and what a grand meeting that will be. Not only are you that special rose but now you are our angel. We will always love you and hold you dear to our hearts.

Miss Mag has left us to be with her Heavenly Father. She was a kind lady to all the children that stopped to get mail, and she would even act as a parent when anyone misbehaved around her.

May her good soul rest in peace.

From, Murnel and her siblings.

We have good and wonderful memories of you Miss Mag. You were such an elegant lady and an honest one too; we never lost a letter, never one stolen. This world needs more people like you. RIP dear lady.

Ditto to everything everyone has said. Miss Mag was indeed a special lady. I was very happy I was able to attend her funeral and it was wonderful. I would not have missed it for anything. Everyone who gave tribute at the funeral, both family members and friends alike, were right on target about the gentle and great person she was.
It was good to see Lilian and Peggy. Also, I saw a lot of cousins and past students from Sandy Bank I had not seen since I left Treasure Beach which was AGES ago. It was like a reunion. There were some people I recognized and was able to call them by name, but others I did not recognize.

Love and God's blessings to all the family, especially to Lillian and Peggy.
Carol.

Miss Mag was the best. I cant forget the day when she called me as a young girl and asked me iff I was interested in working in the Postal Agency. It was like she read my mind. I would look forward for the days when my mother sent me to the P.O. I would just stand there watching. Because of her I got my first money that I worked. It was small but I was proud. When relief was needed at the Treasure Beach P.O. she recommendend me to Mrs Blair and that is where I got My training. Because of her and her encouagements I have to say I gladly served as Postal Clerk several Post Offices. Then Post Master 2 then Postmaster 3. I resigned because of my migration to the U.S.A. Thanks to Miss Mag for giving me a chance I will never forget her. Miss Mag I love you. Condolences to the entire family especially to Veda Lillian and Peggy.
Veda Powell.
