We are still in the recovery stage of this great loss, Zim was like a grandfather to our children, waiting everyday for them as they would come from school, he always watched over them , Koriann and Kyle miss their Grandpa Zim. He was a fixture of Sunset Resort, even before it was Sunset Resort, he was well known and liked by soo many people, all of our guests just loved him. I am so sad right now I just dont have the words, but they will come to me , The Funeral will be the 17 th of July, more details will follow, we are all missing you too Zim, his real name was Zimrie but he never really went by that.

TB will not be the same without Zim. I think he was like a grandfather to many people (young and old). I remember when Alex and I took him the Dr. when I was last there. I've never seen Alex drive that fast and I was holding on to Zim. I think he was comforting me more than I him. Alex asked if I was ok and I told him I thought I needed a drink. On the way back after seeing the Dr. Zim got on Alex telling him that I needed a drink and to stop somewhere. : )... I had to laugh and told him it was ok, it was really just a saying as I was a little frightened. He was always making sure I was ok even on days that I was maybe a little sad. Playing dominoes will not be same anymore either : ( May You Rest In Peace Zim

This is my picture:picture

This picture was taken in January 2010 in front of Zim's house. He had asked me to take it as he wanted me to have a nice picture to remember him by.... He was a very wise man, great friend and one of the reasons I returned to TB many times over the years. He will surely be missed by all who knew him. RIP.

Mr Zim ... We are so very sad to lose such a good friend and wise man. We will miss you and your company on the porch at sunset resort. We spent many an hour listening to stories about the sea , treasure beach and your life in Jamaica. For 13 years you endured and coached me as a partner at the dominoes table and we became the champs most years . I appreciated that you insisted that you were my exclusive partner , it made me feel very special. We so wanted you to meet our grand daughter I know she would have loved you and your kind and gentle ways with children and I felt your hesitation this year when I asked you to be there next year , i know when we said good bye it had special meaning as we held on a little longer than usual ..thanks for that . There are a lot of things that we will always remember about you and the years we shared ...your incredible ability to converse with nature and healing powers, your love of animals and their love for you , your kind and gentle ways of understanding and tolerating , cigarettes under your cap , our trips to sav la mar and the country side , the way you sang Red River Valley after a 'few' Red stripe, ...you will always be in our hearts , we are so sorry that you lost your shadow .
Susan and Tom

My dearest Kiaya Din Din,we are so sad that you are gone, cousin you have left us all so lonesome and blue, but we all take comfort in knowing, that "you have gone to be with the lord in a much nicer place", and to meet with your loved ones that went on before. You was a part of my life for a very long time,I will always cherish the fond memories of the times we all shared while growing up together in treasurebeach.
I know you to be a very kind and caring person, always putting others first.Whenever I came home from Canada to visit, you would come over to my house and we would have a great time drinking coffee on the veranda and remi'nis about the good old days.I know you to be a very kind and gentle person who lived life to the full, you are well known, loved, and respected by many people,at home, and abroad. You were lovely and pleasant,"A proper gentleman".R.I.P Kiaya Din Din.Love always your cousins,Hilma&Dicky

We'll be seeing you Zim. Thanks for the lobster you cooked for us at your home, the lemonade you made us from the tree along the SSV drive. It's been alot of years since I was in TB but you were one of the "Most Memorable Characters" I have ever met.

I am sooo very sad reading this, Zim was a good friend to us and we will miss him too :-(
He used to take my fiance Mark fishing on our trips to treasure beach and he would allways collect shells for me and pommiegranites.we gave him decent fishing gear and beers and company in return, he was such a sweet gentleman and verykind soul.so so saddened RIP Zimroy xxxx
