TO THE FAMILY OF KENRICK MOXOM

"When trials come one by one
And I don't understand-
I'll not doubt for I know
They're all part of God's plan.

For trials are but stepping stones
That strenghthen and make me tough,
So when I walk through the storms
If I fall I will get back up!

And when the storms have passed
And I finally see the sun,
I'll hear God say as He lifts me up-
"Peace be unto you My child, well done!"

I can hardly type for the tears in my eyes. Could someone please let us know what happened to Kenrick?

I have such fond memories of conversations with him during each of my visits to TB. He always made me laugh, always had something clever to say. My heart is heavy and my thoughts are with his family.

Uncle Ken was certainly a fun loving person. He had an asthma attach, which we think took his life.

Thank you all for your love and support.

Uncle Ken,

You are gone but will never be forgotten! I have so many good memories with you, like teaching me how to fish, how to spin a gig, how to set a sweep, how to soap up a rag, how to shoot birds and so many more things. I hope your soul rest in peace. I will see you in a few days so I can say goodbye. Love you always Uncle Ken.....

My deepest sympathy to Miss Lovina and the rest of family on the passing of Kenrick. He was someone who always have a little joke to share. I can see him walking out to the street from in the lane and shouting "yuh" to everyone he sees. He was a very loving and kind person, he was loved by everyone who came in contact with. I'm sorry I can't be there to say a "farewell my friend"

Ken, sleep, sleep and take your rest. I miss you.

I'm sorry, I should have added more to my note. I hope no one is upset with my request for a photo. It's just that people like me, who have only been to Treasure Beach once or twice, may only know people by face and not by name. It was helpful to me when someone posted some photos of Miss Jackie, and I hope someone has a picture of Kenrick that they are willing to share also. I mean no disrespect, I just want to know if this young man is the same one who helped me out when I had a small accident with my bike on my first trip to TB.

This is coming from Kenrick Moxam's sister Tatie Ghatt. Kenrick played a wonderful part in all our lives including his mother, 3 children, grandchildren, his sisters, brothers, neices, nephews, friends and admirers. He was the youngest of the 7 children and always there to take care of our 97 year old mother. Her meals everything she wanted from Ken and him only. We pray to God our Father to give him eternal peace and give us strength to deal with his sudden death. I Love you very much and you will be missed greatly my dear brother.

Deepest Sympathy,
Tatie & Chris (USA)

In loving memory of my dearest uncle Ken. I will deeply and sincerely miss the joy of his company when I visit Jamaica. We have shared many special and memorable moments which include laughter, talks about life experiences (good and bad) and lots of eating - especially trunk fish and lobsters (my favorite). Most of all, the late nights outside under the bright moonlight with my other uncles and aunt telling jokes. Uncle Ken would spend most of his time chasing frogs and lizards that I'm terrified of. He would always compare my size to their's. My deepest sympathy and empathy goes out to my beloved grandmother whom he lived with and deligently cared for like many others would not have had the patience and tolerance to do. You have fulfilled your purpose in life and this is your time to rest. God Bless You!

Love, Merle

I, too, would like to see a photo of Kenrick, if someone would be so kind to post one. All the times I talked with him, I never thought to ask to take his picture. Always thought there'd be another time and another time ... And now, no time and no pictures save for the ones in my memory. Please, if someone would post a photo it would be very much appreciated.

So sad and still shocked with the news of the death of Uncle Ken. What a loving and kind person with the patience of a saint! He gave up so much to take care of grandma and should be honored for that alone. Mom, you are such a wonderful and strong person who consistently rises to the occasion when others fall apart. Bruce and I are the luckiest people in the world to have had such great parents like you and Dad. I love you and consider you my good friend as well as my mother. Bruce and I commend you on carrying out your baby brother’s last wishes to the best of your ability. God has surely blessed you with the gift of love and sincere loyalty to the one’s you love the most. I am still trying to come out there, but if I can’t make it, I know you understand. There are still a few things I have to straighten out with the builders of my house as we discussed.
Just remember, wherever you are, dad is there to guide and protect you in all that you do. The love the two of you had was like no other. Stay strong and hurry home, we love and miss you.
Rest in peace Uncle Ken…you will always be in our hearts.
Love,
your niece Janice and Iliana Louisa.

Lue, my Mama B.. I have known you since I was a child..it has been 28 years of your love and support in my life and I know how much you deeply deeply care for your family, and your brother Kenrick. I know how much you anticipated his phone calls..even if it was for a reminder to call him back....You have always been the mother figure in my life as well as many many others who have no relation to you except through Christ, and the love that you share with all whom you come in contact with. Even though you did not live close to your brother there was never a moment that his name was not in your thoughts or in your prayers. It was with his courage that he put his personal life on hold to take care of his/your mother and with your financial support that he was able to give more than just love to those in both of your lives. Mama B, it is without a doubt that I know that your love has carried your family, and mine, in more ways than just all of the financial gifts that you are able to be so generous with. I have been been close to your daughter Janice and son Bruce and his fiance for years and they both speak nothing but praises of you. They know, as well I, that Kenrick needed you and knew that you would be the first one to arrive whenever there was any trouble. It is unfortunate that you had to fly off under such terrible circumstances, but Kenrick ALWAYS knew that he could rely on you for anything and everything, even if it was to handle all of his affairs after his passing. Just listening to Janice and Bruce talk over these last few days, makes it even more clear the devotion that you had for him. I know that you will truly miss him. There was never a time that your beloved brother needed a thing as long as you were around. You provided all that you could anytime of the day or night. Anyone who Truly knew Kenrick is aware that you and your sister Tatty along with brother Andy and his sister in law Ester were the only ones that truly knew him and truly knew that he was a man to be celebrated. The devotion that he had for his mother is priceless. It was with your help that the house that your family lives in was able to be fixed up, and envied by others. Mama B, you have practically raised me and I know how important you are to my life and my family. When Kenrick was alive, God Bless his Soul, He needed you and Tatty. You two were his only outlet for financial well being and two of his major outlets for emotional support. It is unfortunate that Bruce is not able to meet you in Jamaica, but I know that you understand that with a new promotion, and a new job, that it can be very hard to get away. Believe me when I tell you that you and the family are all that Bruce and Janice mention. With this promotion he hopes that he is able to support his mother and family the way that you and your beloved husband were able to support your family. Janice is trying to concentrate on her mandatory summer teaching but I know that there is nowhere else that she would rather be than by your side. I do not know of anyone that does not look up to you Mama B. I want you to know that my support and love are with you and your family. I love you and anticipate word on how everything is going when you are so far away!

Mom “Lue”, you are the best thing that God has created. I hope the Lord may ever bless and keep you going out and coming in. You are the breadwinner of every one of us friends, relatives and strangers…now your brother, your mother and on and on…I don’t know how you do it. Mom, you are the best, God created you special. If it wasn’t for you mom I wouldn’t be alive today…you saved my life and many other lives, you just couldn’t save your brother’s life this time…you tried once when you were out there last time.

We all love you and we hope Uncle Ken rests in peace. Be strong until the end.
Love always Ree.

This is a lovely photo and thank you for posting it, Rebecca. I am sad to learn of the passing of this kind-faced man. He is not the Kenrick Moxam I was thinking of. There must be another man of the same name in TB (with blond locks and a boat called the Jamagica?). My thoughts and prayers go just as sincerely to Kenrick's family and friends.
