Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the Sanderson family on the loss of Roy Sanderson to the sea yesterday. Mr. Sanderson was swimming at Calabash Bay in the early morning hours when the current proved to be too strong.

Many boats and divers are currently searching the bay, however, due to the extreme rough sea the water is very cloudy making conditions difficult for finding him.

Our thoughts are prayers are with the family and friends of Mr. Sanderson.

Roy was originally from Newcombe Valley, but has resided in England for the last 30 years. He was due to fly back to England today. He would have been 50 on May 15.

I've just received a phone call, his body has been found in front of the Treasure Beach Hotel at Frenchman's Beach.

We are grateful for this closure and remain in sympathy with his family and friends.

Its such a sad time for the family of Roy but what can we do? Nothing just pray and ask God to guide us in a time like this!!! May his wonderful soul rest in peace!!

I am so sorry to hear of your whole family's loss.My prayers, my thoughts, my tears, my heart,goes out to the famiy of Roy Sanderson.

It is but a dream; let it be a dream those were our thoughts when we first hear the news. We want it to be so, oh how we pray; that the next phone call, would tell us so…. Our hearts are broken, our tears can no longer flow, and all we are left with is this empty ache in our soul. How can we move on when you’re no longer here? We wish for one more hug, or your wonderful smile, we ask how God could have taken you, when we needed you so….but only He knows best why you needed to go!!

Your passing has left such pain, so many unfulfilled dreams and goodbyes left unsaid…you meant so much to so many; the family will never be the same. In you the family has lost a Son, Grandson, Husband, Father, Nephew, Uncle, and Cousin; to the world outside, a friendly smile, a kind word and a helping hand.

It is with a heavy heart that I say goodbye, farewell until we meet in His blessed land. I know you’re not alone because “Mumma and Nickal” is there with you! I will remember you with fondness because your life was pure joy!!
