Ok, it's Chrissmus. Let us take a minute and remember all the good things we did in the good ole days at christmas time. Maybe we should have some kind of pot-luck dinna. For instance, who will bring the fee-fee, balloon, mouth organ, sorrel, black cake, rum punch, home made buns, black cake, bammy bread, rice & peas, fresh meat (dem just kill a cow), fry fish? Did I leave anything out? Maybe I should have asked who is going to white-wash the house, or stuff the bed, weed the grass and prepare the rose/flowers garden. What about a picnic at the school to top it off on boxing day? Anybody wid mi?

Then get pretty up to go to concert at church or at the school. Yummy, Yummy, 'Memories' you make me feel home sick.

Or who will get their hair straightened (pressed) with the hot metal curling comb done with a whole heap of hair oil? Man, what a treat that was.

Hi every one. I am puzzled. I am trying to put together a Jamaican Christmas Cd, but I cannot remember who sings "Let The Christmas catch you in a good mood" Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey..talking about Christmas memories..The best time ever!! I can clearly remember Grand Market night in Black River, that's Christmas eve eve and everybody and their grandma would be there.. the christmas tree in Black River would have been the only Christmas tree some of us had ever seen, so that was the most beautiful thing our eyes could behold. Then we have that early Christmas morning march about 4 o' clock in the morning, and we are talking about Uncle Cecil leading us with his mouth organ..THE BEST of THE BEST, this march would take us back down to Frenchman where we would visit our Uncles, Aunts and of course Grannie Birdie to get our Christmas treats, then back home. Then usually during this time of the year there would be "Pleasant Evening" at Aunt Ennie's Church, when every body is decked out in their new clothes. The best times ever..some of my treasured memories.SMILE
