The evening sun dips in the western horizon
A blazing sky kissing the distant sea
Early crickets call out from creeping darkness
Fireflys come calling ouside my door
The night sky descends, surrounding me
Stars, like chandeliers hanging beyond my reach
Tonight we will play hide and seek
Until the grown ups call us to bed
Smiley: Very nice poem.
Lovely, thanks Smiley.
Thanks guys. They say you can never go home again but I find this an effective way to revisit.
Thanks Smiley,The memories made me start longing to visit. Its Fathers Day and Iam sick for home food so I went out got a coconut to bake gizidas.Well I got one looks good only its ransid and filled with brown meat.No Problem I will make a pound cake got the batter done in the pan ready for the oven.Oops the door bell got back to the kitchen to find the cat in the batter.Start over new batter got some white rum and some Blue Mountain coffee this will still satisfy my cravings. Not so fast same lousy cat has unplugged the oven.I am glad Iam glad I do not have to go hunt wood for fire on the top and the bottom.Bye Happy Fathers Day.ONE LOVE.My cake is burning.
