Currently, while the above 5 images get fixed, which they will be no doubt {see the pictures below -TBNet} , let me see if it was a problem with using the hash #, symbol in the image kissing-bracketed text. I won't use it this time with these next 4 images and see what happens. A biiiigggg hello back through time to 1981 to Rosco, Finey, Leita, Everton, Velma etc. and, in the Miss Embla donkey picture, to D, J and C.
Place:
1st 3 photos, bar where Velma worked and where they used to show Kung Fu and Cowboy Western movies on the way from Sandy Bank to Calabash bay. 4th photo, Sandy Bank
Date: August 1981
Thank you
J A M
I decided to go ahead and repost the original (mother) post, without using the #hash symbol in the image text (I think that was the problem stopping the 5 photos from uploading. Admods...hope you don't mind me reposting....J A M, sept 2011)
(Thank you Sandy Bankers and Treasure Beachers ALL for these great memories from 1981 and 1983. One Lov . And if for any reason, youd'd prefer your photo removed and just sent directly to you, right click on my name J A M in blue to see/copy my email address, email me and it will be done. Cheers, J A M, oxford, England, August 2011)

Thanks Jam for the great memories. The good old days when love was in the air all the time.

Thanks people, glad they bring back nice memories. @TBgirl UK, as a matter of interest, do you think that boat, Black Starliner is still going, or do the fishermen use bigger boats now? And thanks for i.d.'ing the owner (I didn't know}.
@spooky dude - do you mean pictures 2,3,4 from the first batch of 4 above or from the 2nd batch of five following. (if you hover your mouse cursor over the photos, I may have put down the approximate location, if that will do for now).
J A M
Wow these are some great pictures the one with Ma Lou's shop also has my uncle in it kool.
@Ebanks, glad you like them. As a matter of interest..so forgive my not knowing...
- was Ma Lou family, and if so, how was she related?
- which in that photo is your uncle, and what's his name?
2 more photos from 1981, up at Beacon
- jam81_81 , Miss Betsy and grandson Steve, Beacon, August 1981

Last trip or maybe the year before Black Starliner was on the beach in Frenchmen's, near Eggy's.
I'm sorry my uncle is the one in the blue pants and the white shirt.
I am not related to Ma Lou, the late Havland Gordon from Beacon is my granddad and my uncle name is Glasford know to most as Spuddy brother to Melton, Warnald, Rickcardo and the late Alfred.
@Van, wow, great 'Black Starliner' is still there. Didn't think it would be.
@Ebanks, thanks for the info and family connections and photo i.d.'ing your uncle Glasford (what's your age now by the way, so I can place how old you were back then...).
A few more, again from August 1981, these at and off Calabash Bay and Frenchman Bay, just me chilling out. On a rock, then on a piece from a broken boat in a few of them. Except the last one...behind Ms Lily's in Sandy Bank where I stayed - big clothes wash day. Eldarine, Novlett, Delphie, Murphia (girl with back to camera) Rosco, plus 1 boy, one young woman unsighted/unidentifiable by me..
Camera: Yashica Rangefinder, ASA200 film
Thanks

Hi J A M, i am now 36 years old so was very young then.
@Ebanks...OK thanks for that, which puts you at 5-6 years old in August 1981 during my first visit. Assuming you were from closer to Beacon (from your uncle in the blue trousers in front of Miss Louise' shop) rather than Sandy Bank, my 1983 visit has a few more photos of the people of Beacon compared to my 1981 visit, perhaps just because I took more photos generally. So, in your honour for being one who has a keen eye on people in these shots, ....
I'll take a rest from 1981 and jump to 2 years later. These 5 next ones are from 1983, 3 of them from Beacon.
I did an unannounced surprise return visit, on my own this time, to Sandy Bank from England, having stayed there before in 1981 with Eldarine Mannings family (Miss Lily's children and grandchildren) in Sandy Bank. When I got there, Eldarine, her siblings and family were no longer there. I still stayed at the same Sandy Bank house, now lived in by other relatives of this family who were so kind and welcoming to me (Novlett, the late Clinton Parchment, rest his soul, daughter Juliet and sons Kurt and Macrae (?).
Photo 1: jam83_001 I was asked to name a newborn baby in Sandy Bank when I was there in 1983 and I named a baby girl with a string of names including 'Amina' , 'Sofia' and 'Yasmina', though I'm not sure whether it was taken up. (Hello girl...you'd be 28 this year). Regardless, I don't think this was the baby, but the mother here is possibly 'Joyce' (?) though I may be wrong. Doesn't matter, it still remains one of my very favourite photos from my 1983 visit. Photo taken in/close to Sandy Bank I think. Aug 1983.
Photo 2: jam83_002 String vest alert ! No other explanation needed. Yes it's me. Calabash Bay, Aug 1983
Photo 3: jam83_003 Miss Betsy, mother of Lurline Savery who at the time was a friend here in Oxford, England, now much more like a mom or older sister. Also Vivette, Kush (small girl), and hidden to Miss Betsy's side, Kurt. Beacon, 1983.
Photo 4: jam83_004 Thaddeus & others, at Cat's Korner (Miss Louise' shop), I'm fairly certain. Beacon, Aug 1983.
Photo 5: jam83_005 I'm sorry but I forget your names. My very best wishes to you. Outside Cat's Korner, Miss Louise' shop, Beacon. Aug 1983
Camera: Yashica rangefinder, ASA 200 film.
Thanks

@Granddaughter in law... , Glad you like the photos. If you do want to print them, it depends where you are.....some photo shops can print photos saved on a computer memory stick.
- put a memory stick into the USB port of your computer.
- scroll up to the photo/s you want.
- right-click on it and 'save picture as..' to your memory stick.
- take the memory stick to the photo shop and talk to them about how to print them.
- (if somehow you need a higher resolution/larger image to save out, right click my 'J A M' name in blue above, copy the shortcut to get my email address and paste into your email 'to' line and send me and email. I'll then send you a higher res/larger version via email).

If u mean the 1st pic with doris gold, the 1st lady pon the left i am afraid i don't recall her name, due respect and apologies.
J A M
Thank you JAM but I dont know who Shirley is, but the info will help me in finding out more.

Hi Jam. just awasome picture's
JAM, you are from Malaysia aren't you? Would you mind sharing how you came to sojourn in TB?
TBNet it was only the one post about the tree that went missing.
Could someone identify the background in this picture. All such beautiful ladies.
am kush live in englang would like to meet the person that put up the photo am on facebook
Spooky Dude, I think this picture was taken in Olde Wharf at a higher elevation, with Great Pond in the bottom center, and the back drop of Flagaman, and Southfield, stretching out towards the Great Pedro Bluff.
Thank you tbeach, I knew that that perspective was unfamiliar. Old Wharf was not so accessible in my time!
@spookydude, am putting together the connection to how i ended up in sandy bank that time and will post soon.
@tbeach, the words 'Big Pond' did come to me, so your saying the location with all those names make perfectly good sense to me. And would it be as if you were walking on the road (not 'thru the bush') from Sandy Bank where I was staying down to Calabash Bay Fisherman's CoOp.....?
@beatrice kush . would you be this same Kush below, seen here in Beacon in 1983, first with Granny Betsy and secondly with Clinton, Auntie Louise and Lisa...? Will go look you up in Facebook after this and follow through..
best wishes
