What can you remeber. I am thinking about freshly baked bammy and fried goat fish. Thick bean soup and bammy. At work feeling hungry almost time to clock off and go home to some process food.

I know how you feel bro.,I wish no one had to migrate. I feel such a great sense of loss to be separated from people who you know at an early age.I think that is one of life's great tragedies. Please don't retire to Miami, come back home to your roots.

Yes, yes, with the avocado pear to cool down the hot fish and bammy. Then some good old lemonade, brown sugar style.

These are some pictures I took in 1983 in Sandy Bank/Calabash Bay, Treasure Beach.
Among other things, I did an unannounced surprise return visit to Sandy Bank from England, having stayed there one time before in 1981 with Eldarine Mannings family (Miss Lily's children and grandchildren) in Sandy Bank. Among my closest friends ther,e I probably wanted to surprise Rosco the most.....only for Rosco to surprise me with his broken arm as seen below.

From the top:
Photo 01 - Rosco Trevor James, on the back steps of Miss Lily's family house in Sandy bank. Novlett, Clinton, their daughter Juliet, son Kurt and baby Mackaray (?) were living there in 1983.
Photo 02 - J A M, Rosco, Finey, Brodie, + forgive me I don't recall exactly...I know it's not Chi. Michael? Richard? I think it was where Brodie was staying.
Photo 03 - Rosco + 2 friends, Calabash Bay
Photo 04 - Delphi + friends + J A M, Calabash Bay.

[ Camera: Yashica viewfinder (+ tripod); ASA 200 film ]

Thanks

J A M
Oxford, England

Thanks guys +, glad you are enjoying the pics. Am setting up my scanner to work with my faster computer tonight so some new ones will be coming soon. Check in if you want to see new additions.

All 4 above are from 1983. Guys and girls in there include Rosco (of course), now working at Jakes last time I spoke to him a month or 2 ago, Finey, Brodie, + ?, +? +? with Rosco roasting fish, Delphie and friends, + me.

@SandyBman, his name's Mior, my friend you're thinking of, and he came to Sandy Bank with me in 1981, but not the 2nd time in 1983. He's back in Malaysia, where we were from originally. I went back to Malaysia in 1986, him in 1987-8.....I came back to live in England in 1994. He stayed back in Malaysia. Married, 3 kids, eldest at university.

here he is in 1981, with the batik pattern red T-Shirt, L to Right, MIOR, Wayne, Bevan, Donald?, Peckol (looking dangerous bro... : ), Hopely, Rosco, come back from/enjoying the proceeds, of a honey hunt.

@luvUrPics & TBgirl uk , thanks, check back in here and you'll most probably see quite a few more.

@sm, glad you like them, and ALL...thanks again for your appreciation. I've sent in a few more..., hope you enjoy them. They'll be in a new thread within 'Dem Good Ole Days', called J A M's Sandy Bank/Treasure Beach photos from Aug 1981, Aug 1983. That way, images of Treasure Beach in 1981 and 1983 from my camera will be more together rather than scattered around.

best wishes

J A M
