I was about 9 or 10 when I built my first car. Nice box with steering and no engine. Took her to the top of Gayle hill where we had that short cut from Sandy Bank to Calabash Bay. Sit in my car and down the hill I go with great speed. Now the worst part of the fun is to get her back up the hill for another ride down.
One ride down I had my first accident. The steering cut so I got out of controll and ended up in a wire fence at the bottom of the hill.
Almost cut my troat in the wire.
Glad you made it Bowl. Most youth now don't have time for such things. Please keep that brew cold. It mussa freeze by now.
Interesting story, Bowl. It looks like invention runs in the family. Did you know that we had a cousin in Great Bay who invented his own airplane and tried to take off from the top of the sandy hill on a windy day? I will leave you to figure out what happened after that. LOL
nice story, good to have you here to tell it.
