Folichon, Arthur Suttons guest house,Silver Sands and Mr Mack's house all in Frenchman, the Densham house in Calabash Bay,are the ones that come to mind. I haven't seen any pictures of Folichon, which I believe was the first one. It had a big diesel generator, long before Byron Hill and Ken Senior had their little ones powering their "Sound Systems".
I remember the New Years Eve parties on the beach at Folichon,fire-works etc. etc. Is it still a guest house? Lets hear what you all remember.

Carlton, I think you are correct. I also remember the good times we had at the New Years Eve parties on the beach at Folichon sponsored by the owners, the Suttons and the Hughes.
I have not been on this site for a few weeks, which is rather unusual for me as in the past I would check it at least twice per week.

I will email you soon.
Take care brother.

Love and God bless.
Carol

Jenny, this is great. Yes I knew that where we lived was the home of our grandparents on Daddy's side, so yes, uncle Neville would have lived there as a child.

I have some photographs from the Gleaner way back of Roy and Cyril taken in the Bluff at Great Bay. Also, photos of some Indian looking people that lived in the Bluff, taken by Roy or Cyril as well. I am going to try and see if I can post them.
I really enjoy this site.

Take care and God bless.

Love.

Carol.

We built our house 'Lyric' in 1969 but before that always stayed at Folichon. I learned to swim right at that beach as it was always shallow and calm. Funny I even came across some very old pictures of it the other day.

Most, if not all of these pictures are in Canada while I am in Jamaica. On my next trip up I will scan and post some of the older pictures of T'beach and Folichon and hopefully there will be some of Alma and Iris. I'm sure my mother would remember them. I'm also sure the Suttons in Mandeville would have some pictures as 'Uncle Peter' who posts here often. (It's Miss Todd by the way)

Some of my best memories are from the times spent at Treaury Beach. We had a house on the beach, Golden Sands, practically grew up down there, fishing, swimming, crabing at night, etc. My uncle, Harold Harris "Judge", also had a house down there, Silver Dawn, so we had some great times there with the whole family. I was down there two years ago and it's changed alot, but is still one of the most beautiful spots on the whole island.

What about Ireen Hamilton and Atilly Ebanks. They also worked there in the late forties to the late fifties.Miss Atilly made the drapes/curtains, plus she baked the goodies.
They were very good friends.
