Davis Family
Twenty Five years have passed and you are still fondly remembered. So much life and fun in one body. You still make me and others laugh. Only recently I was told "a Bargy joke". They are Oh so different.
Still loved and cared for by the entire family.
Rest in peace my brother.
The realization that your journey through this life has ended was both shocking and devastating for everyone that knew you especially for your family.
Bargy was an outstanding and admired person who was loved by many. I will always think, and celebrate the life of this one person who touched so many lives.
Emotions were always displayed when you were in his company - he loved, he cried, he sang, he drank and he fought, he was also a hard worker who loved the sea - that took his life, he adored his parents, his brothers and sisters, he named one of his sons “Prince” because he adored his children as if they were royalty, he protected his family, friends and cousins as if they were his responsibility. Bargy loved country music, he loved Red Stripe beer and loved his many friends, and also shared that love with 2 special women.
Bargy was a kind, friendly and generous person. I often look at his photograph and loads of memories engulfed my mind, today is no exception.
Hey bro, I still have your cowboy shirt you know – it’s just a piece of your garment that I will always cherish.
You will always be remembered by me - Vergenny.
Bargy - I will always remember this loving person.
Bev
Such a fun-loving member of our community. Vergenny is right, he was such a wonderful singer and it seems fitting that he and Raymond who had the voice of an angel fished together and ended up in the afterlife together. They don't make 'em like those two anymore.
Rest in Peace, "boys." Treasure Beach lost a piece of her soul when she lost you but our Saviour knows best. We'll never forget you. Never!
just the other day i was thinking about uncle barge,i guess i was only five years old when you passed away but i will always remember you with love and pride to say that you were my uncle
To Bargy family and friends,I know many of you might not have a picture of Bargy. So I hope you will all treasure this one.
Bargy might have gone but not forgotton, There were many good times most of us can say we spent together with him. Lets continue to keep his spirit alive.
Thank you Medlyn, my neighbour. I have a copy of the above picture but its great to see it posted. It is said " he who feels it knows it" and we can both relate to the saying.
On another note its been years since we've seen each other. I however see your picture from time to time.
Lots of love
Lucia
Hi Lucia: Yes it,s been many years since we've seen each other. Hope you all doing well. I know it might not be easy for some family member to see the picture.
The first picture of Maxie I did, I just could not hold back the tears. Now every time I got on this site and look at them, I just feel closer to him. I hope all family members from all three sides feel the same.
Love you all.
Medlyn
Oh my God, looking at these pictures, would make anyone want to cry.
In Loving Memory of our Dear Bargie Clarke"
I remember this day as if it was yesterday, that monday,Bargie came into Kingston,to look about his Engine for sea,i saw him he said you know Cos if i made it home early i'm going to sea tonight i said you're going to be tired leave it for the next night, knowing the hard working Guy he was sure enough he went to sea that same night.Bargie you left a hugh void in our lives ever since. we'll always love and cherish fond Memories of you.
Barjie, I remember you well. My sister was good friends with Marcia (I believe that's her name). Here's a poem I wrote for you:
IN GOLDEN PARADISE
The crystal wave breaks
open and your boat shot through
to retrieve your pots laden
with CATCH.
And the golden sun breaks
through with a warm and yellow light
blessing the all-important trip.
Raucus music breaks
through overhead and there’s daydream
of returning home
But dreams can fail, crystal waves deceptive;
they took you in never to be seen again,
Except of course, in Golden Paradise
Correction! I think the person I referred to in my earlier posting was Rosemarie (She was Swaby at the time, I think) I'd like to use this time to say THANKS. She and her family were very sweet to my sister, Meryl (who was her friend) and me. She probably wouldn't remember me, but I sort of remember every little morsel of kindness done to me.
A little thank you says so much
And adds that special personal touch
It also lightens up one's day
In countless many little ways
For your very sincere special thought
And the gratitude that you have brought
This little verse is to let you see
I appreciated your thoughtfulness to me!
~Stephannie Johnson~

*Love You*
Another year has passsed since I posted my brother's 25th anniversary of leaving. I say "leaving" because there is no clear evidence of his death (or of those who were with him). and this is what makes it so difficult.
To Rebecca I say - You don't know how much you have done and continue to do for the people of Treasure Beach and its environs. Now the memories of everyone lost at sea have been revived and those who were too young or were never born can read about them.
Bargy, we your immediate family and your host of friends and relatives will die with you in our memory. January 19 will forever be a sad day for us.
Rest in peace, dear brother

Carolyn Ward-Ashman
I endorse the wonderful things said about my cousin Bargy. He was truly a special person. His temper could be sharp at times but it was a reflection of the deep passion that flooded his heart..a passion for people and particularly for his family that was unmatched. He loved with every fiber of his being and was ever so fun loving and generous.I will ever remember you cuz, you were truly a "Clarke".
Sometimes I wonder if he was really a Clarke- or just his own person, he was a special person- I aleays admired Bargy and Shirley together. May your sould RIP.
Dear brother,
Today you are on my mind in a special way. It marks 28 years since we last saw you, and to think we still do not know exactly what happened.
I just want you to know that I wont ever forget that you took me out on the boat to view Lovers Leap from the sea just one week before. It was the first and the last time you did.

In loving memory of a dear brother who lost his life at sea 28 years ago today.
A little tribute small and tender
Just to say I still remember.

Dear brother Bargy,
Today's date is etched in my memory and sadly so.
Remembered always by the family.
I dedicate this song in memory of my dear brother-Bargy.
I hear your name in certain circles
And it always makes me smile
I spend my time just thinking about you
And it's almost driving me wild
[Chorus:]
And I ain't missin' you at all
Since you've been gone... Away
I ain't missin' you
No matter what I might say
And there's a message that I'm sendin' out
Like a telegraph to your soul
I can't bridge this distance
Honey, stop this heartache, overload
Missing You lyrics © Warner/Chappell Music, Inc.
"One Day At A Time Sweet Jesus" was the record Bargy gave to me (at my Workplace) to give to Prince the day before he went sea. I had no idea that I would be seeing my brother for the very last time. Yes, the angry waves took him and his friends but I know that he did not go down without a fight. What a warrior he was, a man of valor and strength.
My brother loved his family and we loved him equally. He was God fearing and I believe he found peace in the midst of the storm.
On behalf of my sisters and brothers, I take this opportunity thank all including my cousins and friends who have taken the time over the years to remember Bargy on January 19
Today's date will always be a sad day for me, it will never escape my memory.
We love you brother, rest in peace.
God created a box of chocolate just for us, and you were the sweet and nutty one.
Still love you and miss you brother after all these years.
The good memories are never-ending and the laughters continues. Your family will forever love you.
I often wonder what you would be like 38 years later. I do believe that you would still make us laugh, you would still want to talk to us about life, you would still love us unconditionally and most of all you would still be standing in our corner.
Bargy, you cannot be replicated, you were one of a kind and I will always love you and continue to have visions of seeing you again.
Your Sister Fay.
Thirty three years and it seems like yesterday;
This date is on my mind and it just won't go away.
Sister Lucia
