Maas Elbert I never met you, but I have heard so much about you. It is too bad that at this time, in memory of you, your family has to also think of your name in a another way. May your loving soul rest in peace Uncle Elbert

Uncle Elbert;

I remember that sad day; I was at Sandy Bank Primary School when we got the devastating news that you had drown. I think your untimely death changed Billys Bay forever. You had a loving personality, you were gentle, caring and spoke passionatley about God to everyone you met. I was young, but I remember lots of things about you; to my sisters and I you were Papa or Uncle Elbert, one could hear your lovely voice as you belted your favorite songs; I still hear you singing "heaven heaven is the place I long to be" and also I think your favorite "sweet beu la land". You loved car drive and I clearly remember Mass Ugen purchasing a motorbike so he could transport you to church and back, you did not get to fully enjoy it as you were taken away from us shortly.

Your name has become household in our home and it is very rare that you are not mentioned. May your soul continue to rest in peace.

My grand uncle Elbert was a sincere and blessed man, its been a long time since he left us but it's still clear in my memory the grief we all felt the day he left us, i too was at school in grade five at Sandy Bank when miss P.T. came and whisper the news to me, it was a very dark day in Treasure Beach, people came from near and far to mourn his death. Uncle Elbert was a true believer of the bible, he was a peace maker and a humble man, always deeply involve in the church, and was always inviting everyone to go to church, he loved quoting the scriptures to them and like Nola said, always singing his favourite hymns, he will live in our hearts and memories forever, thinking about him still fill my eyes with tears,he was taken so suddenly. Iam sure he is at peace up in heaven, not very often that someone like that comes a long. He will be missed forever.Rest in peace Pawpa /Bredda Elbert.

Maas Elbert-
I will never forget your singing when I was a child going to church. You were blessed with one of the all-time great voices and when you sang, "Bringing in the Sheaves," I just loved it! It was such a great pleasure for me as a small child hearing and watching you sing.

RIP

Bro Elbert reading about your memories just bring back the old Tabba days. I can still see you with your bible under your arm rushing to church. Your departure we might question, but it was your time to join the angels to sing and to teach them those wonderful songs you sang in church I know you are still singing and I know it is sweeter up there.

MY GREAT GRANDPA,

I do not remember you but my grandma tells me stories all the time and I just know that we would have been very close. I wish I had known you or at least be able to remember you but I will never forget the stories about how hard you worked along with Keith trying to provide for your family..you lost your life trying to provide for your family. I admire you and though my memories are only those that have been passed on to me by my grandma..i still miss you and wish you were here.
