Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageÝLink to this messageÝÝBy TBNet on Wednesday, June 19, 2002 - 09:06 am:

The idea is simple. If you think you know the answer to one of the following questions, send us an email with your guess. We're hoping a lot of people will include interesting stories and anecdotes about the places and people shown.

In a few days we'll reveal the winners and everyone's replies.

TOURIST:

Where is this?
tourist
YARDIE:

Where is this?
yardie

Email us at contest@treasurebeach.net us with:
1) Which question you are answering (Tourist or Yardie)
2) Your guess,
3) Any story or other comments you have about the picture.

RULES:
We put up a picture that we think tourists can ID and one that 'yardies' can ID. To keep it fair you'll have to pick which one to guess at. If you include a guess for each picture, you're entry(s) will be canceled.

The first entries received with the correct answers will be the winners. The time stamp on the reply will be the final authority.

If you win, we'll use your name (not email address) and perhaps a picture if you so desire to announce our winner.

Good Luck!
hr

And the winners are...

Yardie:

Cherisse Clarke
This is the "Mulde" which was anchored out in the harbour, but has now positioned itself right in front of the Waterloo Hotel in Black River.

Sue&MIlt
We saw this tilted ship on our way to Billy's Bay from the airport at MoBay. We took pictures of it too! Not knowing the area really well I can only guess now that it was somewhere between Fort Charles, Black River and Billy's Bay, but no further than Billy's Bay.

Andi
The picture for Yardies was taken near the entrance from the sea to the Black River.

Dean Rasmussen
that is on the road to treasure beach on the south shore.

Mike Loew
I believe that boat is in the harbor for Black River. It's always a welcome siteÊ for those going up the river to view the crocs, stopping at Rudy's and feasting on crabbacks.

Tourist:

Beach Lover
Sandy Island! Note: Its really Sunny island, but we know what Beach Lover meant :-)

Favorite memory: Peck starting up a little campfire right on the beach and cooking us fresh lobster. Rinse in the ocean for salt, squeeze a little lime and presto! Lunch. I still dream of that...

Outi Rikula
The picture is from the same place as this one: Sunny Island. LOVELY PLACE
AND GREAT MEMORIES!
sunny

Peter Kennedy
boat off the beach of Sunny Isle.

Thanks to everyone who wrote in. If you have any comments about Sunny Island or the 'Mulde', please leave them below.

Enjoy!

Sunny Island, I knew but was waiting to hear comments. I have many memories there. Every time new friend comes to visit me when I am in TB I bring them there. Sometimes the reef is productive for scuba diving..sometimes not so good. Everytime I go there I end up with dinner. One time a shark head..we cut it up and had great shark for dinner. another time a few 'natives' caught a 'sea puss' for us...that was way fun..chasing it and diving for it. And the best time was when the fishing boats were coming in with their nets and we all helped them. Percy (like I haven't mentioned him before) started a fire on the beach. We pulled the helped with the nets and Percy roasted up the fish...they were soooo good. The fishermen we helped..I can not remember their names but will always remember their faces and kindness. And we will always remember those roasted fish.
I'll try to attach the picture of me .. butt down from pulling on the net.
