Miss Ditha,
It is great to see you on the TB website. If we could all only know a part of the knowledge you have obtained with those 92 years that God has blessed you with.......
May God thoroughly bless you throughout the rest of your days on this earth (and may they be many). May your heart be filled with joy and every day met with good health.
Dear Rebecca, its nice to see that the elderly people in treasure Beach are being profiled, you are a great person.I am happy to see miss Ditha she is still laughing as she always did, I remember those days when she sold snack on the Beach.she was a kind lady to kids, may God bless her
Thanks for the compliment, but I cannot take the credit. The student picks whomever they want to profile. All I do is take the pictures and type in the article.
Thanks go to the students and the support of their teachers and Mrs. Moxam, their principal for the wonderful Profiles over the years.
What a surprise. You still look good, look at those beautiful blue eyes. They said you are the oldest person living in Treasure Beach, I think forgot to mention that you are the most jovial person in Treasure Beach. Anyway, Granny Ditha is was wonderful to see your face; I did saw the photographs Donna took while she visited you in August. Take care, and wishing you God's blessing.
From granddaughter; Nola & Greatgrandchildren: Shay & Jordan

Grandma,
It was wonderful to see your ever pleasant and smiling face splash across my computer screen. It was a great pleasure for me to show you off to the rest of my colegues at work. I am very thankful that God has kept you for so long. Even though I did not get to know you and spend as much time with you as I should, I just want you to know that there is never a day pass that I do not think of, and I want you to know that I LOVE YOU!! I hope you will get to know your creator in a personal way, he kept you this long to prepare you to be with him, please do not let the opportunity pass you by.
My husband James and the girls Natalie, Annaduri(Durai) and Mariani send their love.
We hope the Lord will continue to bless you and keep you strong and health, and that he will keep you for many more years. God bless your.

Aunt Ditha,
I hope you get to read this, but this is your Grand Nephew Kirk. I was raised by your sister Lynnette up at Munro. She passed away in 1989. I've been in the U.S. since 1983, I'm in the American Army some 18 plus years now and is stationed in Germany. I just came back from Iraq in February after a year there and is about to spend a year in Afghanistan starting in March next year. Your profile was in 2002, so I don't know if you are still with us. I anticipate hearing some good news from you. I had heard about Aunt Mina's passing a few years ago. Is Winford and family still in the area? My last visit to Treasure Beach was in 1991 upon return from the first Iraq war. I miss those times I spent there. I'm very happy no lives were lost in the hurricane, and I hope you all can quickly rebuild. Please email back as soon as possible as I'm anxious to hear back from you or anyone there in the area. I was able to see all pictures featured in the profiles except your's didn't come up for me. I was disappointed and still I keep trying to access it. Special thanks to Tina Davis for capturing such an important link to the history of Treasure Beach, and to Rebecca, thanks also for all you're doing. Please email soon.
Kirk:
What a great post and our apologies for not having the picture there. We weren't aware it was missing and are trying to locate it now.
I'll email you when it is.

"A thought for our great grand mother"
FROM: Dian and TIA.
We weren't there to share the things grand daughters would have loved to share with their favorite person in the whole wide world. But we feel you, and carry you in our hearts wherever we may go, and whatever we may do .
We love us some coffee that reminds us of GRANNY, and no matter how much we accomplish, the thought of where we come from always helps us along. LOVE U GRAND MA. (BROOKLYN, NEW YORK)
To: Adiatha Strachan ( Mommy ),
You are the greatest grandmother ever, and I thank God everyday for the thing you've thought me. Words cannot explain the love I have for you. It's only a pitty that you had to leave us, but you will be always in my heart.. You are the greatest grandma and a real tough one, I miss all your jokes, they will live on with me.
love,
D
Oh well, it has been some time now since the passing of my grandma, however, no day have passed that I have not think of her, the lost time we did not share and the getting to know her as a grand daughter should know her grandma this was of no fault of hers of course. I still wonder if she had the time to see the face of God who has graciously kept her for so long in this world. I so much wanted to come to her funeral but I could not put myself to come, my dads death and funeral was still fresh in my heart and still is as I wright this, and it still hurts, but being there, comeing there I could not bear knowing that I would not see him again. I have heard how funny she was and sometimes not too funny, but it is best to always remeber the good parts - for those who had the opportunity to have her in their life I trust she has left something for them to always remember and live out in their lives. I am thankful for her life, for without her then there would not have been my dad, and then there would not have been me and my siters and my 3 beautiful children...I thank the Lord for her everyday.....May her soul rest in peace..still remembering her....in LOVE ALWAYS...grand-daughter Donna
