Mrs. Ruby Hill, age 74, was born to Catherine and John McDonald on September 11, 1932. She was married for forty-three years to Mr. Cecil Hill who predeceased her. Miss Ruby had two daughters before meeting Mr. Hill. Together, Miss Ruby and Mr. Hill had a son and a daughter. Miss Ruby was born in Westmoreland but has been living in Frenchman's Bay once she married Cecil Hill.

Miss Ruby has become a part of the community as presently, she is a member of the Treasure Beach Women's Group and is also a member of the Calvary Assembilies Church of God. She is a role model to the youth in the community and also extends a helping hand to the poor and needy. She does so by assisting the less fortunate with clothes, food and other necessities.

Although Miss Ruby has travelled to Canada she has a passion for Jamaica. Her desire is to see an end to crime and violence and drug use. Her advice to young people is, "Seek God first in life, study hard, have an aim in life, and keep away from drugs." Although her childhood dream of being a poet and a singer was not fully realized, she would like to see young people achieve the best in life.

Miss Ruby loves the Lord. Since her husband died, she has found solace in the Lord. She finds words of encouragement in Psalm 27:1 and Psalm 32:11, hence, the Bible is her favorite book. On the other hand, she is an outgoing Jamaican who enjoys oxtail and beans as well as juicy pineapples. All in all, Miss Ruby is enjoying life to the fullest.

Oh Miss Ruby!

How fabulous to see you as the September profile! And Kimberlee, you did such a great job interviewing Miss Ruby and writing her profile.

Miss Ruby, words can not describe how much you mean to me! I honestly consider you my second Mom and think the world of you. Your kindness, your generosity, your laughter, your dedication and your good heart remind me every day of the important things in life. You've always been my role model, someone I look up to with admiration and respect. I am truly grateful to have you in my life! I love you dearly.

I think Kimberlee said it best, 'Miss Ruby is enjoying life to the fullest.' And it shows!

Please send my love to everyone in your family, especially Troy!

Miss Amy

Ditto to everything Amy said! You are my Jamaica mother Miss Ruby. You have always supported me and given me great advice - even though sometimes I didn't want to hear it.

I have the greatest respect and admiration for you. Your positive outlook on life and your terrific sense of humor is an inspiration to all who meet you. Every time we visit I go away feeling uplifted.

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your life and may we continue to laugh and love together for a very long time.

May God continue to bless you.

Ms Ruby you are still looking marvelous and humble as usual. I second Rebecca, I do have great respect and admiration for you, you have been Godfearing and through it all you stand out. You have certainly been a role model for your kids. I have always looked up to Yvonne your daughter, she is a prime example of your love and devotion to peoples' needs and very humble. She has displayed a motherly touch to me and for that I am always grateful. You and my mom and your daughter Joan goes a long, long way. Thank you for been her friend. Ms Ruby I salute you as profile for the month. Congratulations.

Karen

When Rebecca sent me the profile to post, I was so happy to see your smiling face, Miss Ruby. I can't add anything to what the others have said, other than to say I look forward to more conversations on your front porch!

And Miss Kimberlee Taylor, you have written a wonderful profile. Thanks for your efforts.

Hi Mom,

If only you could see yourself the way I always do, you would see a special woman i've admired my whole life through. My wise and caring mother, guiding light and special friend, whose love is such a blessing, whose devotion never ends. Its wonderful to share you with others who love you too, continue to live, love and give the way you always do. For this is a special gift which I have learned from you. I'll pass it on, you are the best, the wind beneath my wings.

Love you,
Joan

Dear Miss Ruby, our visits are short and far between. Over 13 years we've known each other, but having you as a friend is having a friend forever and I treasure that.

Also, thank you so much for being Rebecca's Jamaica mom and keeping her in line. No easy task!

Hello Mrs Ruby –Three Cheers from Germany!!

Its so nice to see you as “the profile of the month” -you belong to my all time favourites of Treasure Beach! My stay at your guesthouse in 97 seems to be so long ago, but the impact it made is lasting until today. This was one of the most beautiful & magical times I ever had in Jamaica. Whenever I’m in the area you are one of my first destinations to go to and have a likkle chat with. Talking to you is as important as talking with my other mother in TB, Mrs B., and I really missed your opinion and advices this year.
I hope that I meet you again one day and benefit from your wisdom. I wish you a very very long life and that you receive all the good vibes you deserve.

Much Love to you Mrs Ruby,

Jui from germany
