profile

Miss Rebecca was born in Massachusetts, U.S.A. on December 19, 1961. She came to Jamaica seventeen years ago on holiday and came back once a year every year for the next 6 years. She then decided to take a year off from "corporate America" and live in Jamaica. That was 13 years ago and she never left. On October 31, 2005 she became a Jamaican citizen (photo of her taking her oath is above).

Her occupation is that she runs Treasure Tours. Treasure Tours arranges tours and transportation and books accommodations at guest houses and villas in and around Treasure Beach.

What she likes about Jamaica the most is the natural beauty and the inner beauty of the people. She decided to stay in Treasure Beach because she loves the warm climate and loves that she is able to look at the sea and at the same time turn around and look at the mountains.

Her favourite sport is car racing because she loves to drive. Her favourite color is green because it reminds her of nature. Her favourite fruit is Julie mango. Her favourite dishes are jerk pork and stewed conch.

Miss Rebecca is not married. She has no children but she has two cats and a dog.

Miss Rebecca is a sports fan and so she is always willing to transport the students of the school to all sporting activities. She is the PRO (public relations officer) for the Treasure Girls (the first women's cricket team to come out of rural Jamaican and is still the #1 women's cricket team in all of Jamaica).

She has also been instrumental in getting a lot of help for the school. She is a community oriented person and takes pride in assisting in the upliftment of Treasure Beach and Jamaica as a whole. This was brought out in the way she handled the Hurricane Fund that was sent through TB.Net.

Well look who got her picture published on TB.Net! Looking good, partner! For those who don't know (there are some people who don't check this site every 15 minutes, right? :-) Rebecca is co-owner with me of this web site.

The masses have spoken, both in the community and on this web site. They asked to see you profiled, and Mrs. Moxam at Sandy Bank Primary decreed it to be so. You had no choice, did you? (This is my way of saying I HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS. HONEST!)

And speaking of your picture, what a great idea to choose one of you when you were granted Jamaican citizenship. You're a Ja'merican now fi true.

Rebecca, its been great being partners with you in this web site, and you know I've always had a great respect for your work ethic, honestly, and desire to help those around you. Add that you're a heck of a lot of fun at parties and mix a wicked V&T, and what a package!

Here's to your continued success in Treasure Beach!

Maximum Respect,
Eric

Congrats Rebecca. You have done so much for that little village since you got there and especially in times of disasters.Without you during Ivan the Terrible I'm sure many of us would have been in the dark not knowing what was really taking place. You were a God sent and still is and I know you will always be there for everyone but hopefully not because of another Hurricane.
Anxious to meet you and shake your hands.
God Bless and Merry Christmas.

Congratulations Rebecca! Here's a gem of thought for you:
"When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds; your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be."
— Patanjali (c. 1st to 3rd century BC)

LOVE YA

Great going, Rebecca!
BTW, its great to see someone of another nationality (particularly from a Developed country) recognising the value of Jamaican citizenship.
The flow should not all be in the other direction!

Hi Rebecca,
Congratulations on becoming a citizen of such a wonderful and beautiful island. You've been a source of hope and inspiration to the communities in and around Treasure Beach. Pastor Aaron Dumas, host of the Dear Pastor radio show on Power 106 will be in TB on the night of 20 December and I along with two other soldiers from St. Elizabeth serving here in Afghanistan will be calling the show to send greetings to everyone. We have Phillip Cousins from Round Hill District, Khadian Parchment, a Munronian from Black River, and myself, also a Munronian from Munro/Potsdam District. As you know, the Clarkes, Strachans and Lewis' there in TB are just some of my relatives living there. Please spread the word as much as you can to alert everyone about this to include the Simpson's up by Munro (876-341-0101 Judney Simpson). We plan to call the show between 10:00 and 10:30 PM on Tuesday.
Thanks Rebecca.
Sincerely,
Kirk Simpson

Cool! A face to go with the name! Rebecca, you're an inspiration to me. I've been trying to figure out how to orchestrate a move to TB ... and maybe I need to stop 'orchestrating' and just do it!
