march_2011

My great grand-mother, Mrs. Mazie Moxam nee Swaby, was born on July 2, 1928 and so she is now eighty two years old. She was born in the quiet district of Billys Bay where she also grew up. Her parents were Fredrick Swaby and Margarette James Swaby.

Ma, otherwise called Miss Mazie, got married to Carl Moxam of Sandy Bank who predeceased her in 1986. This union produced eleven (11) children; namely, Lloyd, Leroy, Marcia, Verol, Winston, Peter, Donald, Earl, Cleve, Lorna and Kaysho. Ma Mazie had four (4) brothers: Roddy, Lawrence, Caswell and Charles and four sisters: Rosetta (Aunt Jo), Berita (Aunty Berry), Gladys and May (Lulu). She is a Christian and has been a member of the Treasure Beach Pentecostal Church of God for many years. Her favourite colour is blue and her favourite dish is ackee and saltfish.

My great-grand mother recalls that as a child growing up, life was very hard but the crime rate was lower. Now she wishes that her wonderful community will not be affected by crime and will be renowned for being a crime-free community so that all visiting Treasure Beach, will enjoy themselves and have a marvelous time.

All the best Ms Mazie; May God continue to bless and keep you.
CJ- be careful not to commit treason. Your foundation was in MC; JC was by default. Nevertheless, good show at champs.

Aunty Mazie, you are the pillar and strength of our family. The love that you give it grows and returns in the billions the love that you have for my mom (you sister) it was so much that it over flows and reaches her children and her children. You are one in the entire universe that anyone that comes intact with you can feel the love. May the good Lord our God continues to guide and protect you.

Love you with all the love I have in me, Ida

Yes Aunty Mazie it is true that your love is strong. We the children of you niece Ida feel your love and it is so important to us that sometimes we are even jealous when we are talking about who you love the most. We know that you love none more than the other you love us all equally. Listen to this don't ever think for a moment that we are going to let you go now because you are the only sibling from both parents that is keeping a strict boarder for us. We love you with all our hearts.

Love,
Monica, Virge, Chucko, Jenine, Suzie, Dowan and Uan

Ms. Mazie's son Cleve introduced me to his mother and other family members when my significant other and I took a short and long-overdue trip to Jamaica in '09. Ms. Mazie made us feel welcome and treated us like part of the family. Ms. Mazie is a classy lady, and I trust God to keep her and family in good health and increasing wealth. Love Patricia and Fish.
