Meet my grandfather Mr. Felix James. He is seventy-nine years old. He was born in the community of Treasure Beach where he resides all his life.

He is married to Dorothy and is the father of five children namely George (Canada) Carol (Jamaica) Neverlyn (Canada) Veronica who is my wonderful mother (Jamaica) and his foster son Mark Hill (Jamaica).

He is a member of the Assembly of God church in the community for over thirty-three years and was an active member of the church board for thirty- two years.

He is very passionate about his community. Although he appreciates the development taking place he is concerned about the social ills that come with development. He is hoping that the necessary steps will be put in place so as to make sure that the beauty of our community remains. He believes that he is blessed to be a part of this wonderful community and wishes for those who would visit that they will enjoy their stay.

Shani you did a good job describing your grandpa.
I grew-up calling him brother Fellie. He was a dear friend of both my parents Septy and Atilly Ebanks.
His dear wife (Dor) is also a beautiful person and every time I visit home I make it my duty to visit them also.
I'm glad to see he was the chosen one, he surely deserves to be.

Many individuals throughout the world and in particular TB could have achieved much more in life if they had the motivation to launch out and to continue fighting when things became difficult. One of the ways that individuals like these could be helped is to make them aware of others who have come out of similar backgrounds and have been able to weather the storms of life and go no to achieve success in their respective fields of endevour.I believe it would be great to have a page on this website to highlight the many success stories that have come out of TB.There have been men and women who have attained great heights in education, sports, singing/entertainment,business,banking,religion,politics,fishing,agriculture,com munity service and other areas.Comments could be made in regards to these people and if possible profiles be done of some of these, past and present individuals. Please note that for such a project TB would be defined as the coastal communities from Great Bay in the East to Billy's Bay in the West. I still cannot understand how communities that have no beaches can be called Treasue Beach.

Brother Fellie its such a joy to see your wonderful face again,it bring back memories of the days i used to be in church and you would say 'how yuh doing mi baby God bless yuh its time to give yuh soul to di Lord',then he would say God love yuh and he wants you in his kingdom. I would have tears running down my face because he also reminds me of my dearest Grandpa who passed in 2002.Great job Shani well said...........

Proud Treasure Beach Man, the same way you can understand that communities with no Treasure can be called Treasure Beach. Treasure Beach is like a small parish within the parish of St.Bess, and is not restricted to the beach areas...would you leave SAndy Bank out of the mix? [edited by TB.Net] The name belonged to the hotel started by my cousin-in-law Dicker, and the re-naming of the area was an advertising gimmick,so to speak, instigated by Dicker.
