I suppose it depends on what you consider affordable. If you check our Where to Stay page, you'll see what the prices are. Of course not all establishments are listed there, but its a good indicator of overall prices.

Enjoy,

I think the best priced place to stay is Sunset. Great food and clean rooms. We have stayed at a few different places in TB and found we got the most for our money at Sunset.

Taino cove does look appealing but not really to me price-wise having a large family as it is per room and we would need quite a few rooms.
I feel most lodgings in jamaica do not consider families in their pricing!
I am lucky this year to have found a couple that do.

Alot of the places will rent you the whole house, instead of paying the per room rate.
Mayday is a really affordable place...!

The places listed as having no hot water does that mean a person would be taking a cold shower?

I wouldn't say 'cold'. The temperature here is always warm, so the temperature of the water coming out of the tap is never cold. If the water pipe is exposed or near the top of the ground you will even get warm water heated by the sun.

I was a little leary of staying in places with out hot water at first. But, the pipe water was plenty warm and even hot sometimes.

I am from TB and whenever I go back to visit I do not want to get from under the shower because that's the only way to really cool off it is very hot there.
I would take those cool (not cold) showers any day compare to the winter we are experiencing this year.
Have fun on your visit, I'm sure the people in charge of the villa you choose will be just as warm and friendly seeing that's the nature of the whole community in general.
One good thing for me I have the comfort of my own home so I cannot help in giving advise on where to stay, because I have been to just about three not as a guest just as a friend but, from looking at and reading about the villas/private homes I can see most of them are very lovely.

I have stayed at Button Bay Beach Getaway on several occasions. The hosts, William and Gladys Finlason will really make you feel welcome in a location that is quite heavenly. The food and hospitality are excellent, the scenery beautiful and the ambiance restful and relaxing. I endorse this property and know that if you want a relaxing holiday, Button Bay is the place to be. I have taken a group to Button Bay and Sandals and they really preferred the holiday at Button Bay.

Go there and enjoy,
