I'm not sure who to credit for the phrase, "A bad day of fishing is still better than a good day at work." But I do know when you've had a good day of fishing!

I got a call from Zebedee at noon today telling me he just got a call from Bebe. Bebe said to be at the beach in 30 minutes with my camera, that was the whole message.

So, of course, I grabbed my camera and was on the beach in 30 minutes. A crowd was starting to gather so I knew word had gotten out, but it seemed nobody knew what the word was.

We watched Bebe and crew come in and had an idea it was good judging by the size smiles on everyone's face.

They were, however, the ever cool fishermen and slowly took their time bringing in the poles, supplies, gas tank, etc. I just couldn't take the anticipation any longer and called out to Bebe, "I can't wait!" The smile got even bigger, the crowd grew even larger . . .

and then . . . Peter Hughes, Fako Dreshau, and Bebe Sutherland struggled to take out what they were all so proud of . . .

A 125 POUND MARLIN!!!!

marlin

This fish has to be over 6.5 feet long. Wow, what a beauty! It took them 30 minutes to reel it in. They caught it on the Kingston Bank. Eache one of them had a hand in reeling the fish in as that was no easy task, but according to Fako, Peter did the lion's share of the work and it was his pole that took the strike.

Uncle Peter I know you are reading this with mixed pride and envy. Bebe and Peter said they called out your name nuff times while reeling her in. So just know you were there in spirit.

Congratulations to Bebe Sutherland, Captain, and crew of Peter Hughes and Fako Dreshau. Now that is a good day of fishing!

Well now! that's something! What's more I was speaking to nephew Peter & Bebe just minutes after the fish had come aboard! Quite something on a cell phone from my car in the UK to a cell phone out on Kingston Bank! Incidentally, I notice from the photo it was caught on MY rod and reel - the rod is only 52 years old!.

I've decided to jump on a plane tomorrow so see you all in TB on Thursday.

I just wanted to thank BeBe and Falco for contributing to what is sure to be my most memorable day fishing ever!
That fish was lightening out of a clear blue sky.
Evereything had to go perfectly to get it into the boat..the tackle held, sharks didn't attack it and with the three of us in the boat we were able to lift it aboard. It was a complete team effort.
A thrill of a lifetime.
Bebe check your e-mail I've sent some photos.
Falco get back to Treasure Beach soon, we need your "fish dance" again to bring us more luck!
Tight lines, walk good
IRIE
