Greetings,

My wife and I were in Treasure Beach last October to celebrate our anniversary and to visit with friends. Since it was the rainy season, things were pretty slow. We still had a wonderful time, but everyone in town was hoping and planning for a busy High Season. I am just curious if there were a lot of visitors over the last couple of months. I hope it was, and is, a profitable season with lots of Euros, dollars and Js coming in.

We intend to get down and see everyone sometime in April or May.

Best regards,

Peyton and Kim

Great to hear you are coming back in April or May Peyton!

The season started out very slow, but thankfully, has picked up. I think we are all still a bit nervous to see what happens in the next several months as the state of the US economy plays a major role in Jamaica's tourism trade.

Thanks to last minute airline specials, we have been getting lots of last minute reservations. I have a feeling the cold weather up north is another persuasive factor.

Yes, I am sitting here typing this in my shorts and sleeveless shirt, feeling a nice warm breeze blowing. Ah, looks like another perfect weather day!

Hi Rebecca,

Thanks for the update. I was afraid everyone was going to ignore me. I knew it was a possibility. I really did want to know how things were in Treasure Beach. I think about Jamaica and Treasure Beach all the time. Travel Channel showed their old Jamaican special again last night. It's the one that has a short piece of footage from Dougie's bar at Jake's. I've seen it many times, but it made me miss Treasure Beach all the more.

When we last visited, most of the obvious and major hurricane damage was either repaired or being repaired, but it appeared to take everything the community had to do it. There didn't seem much left over for anyone. Everyone was hoping (and praying?) for a very busy High Season. We were very concerned and did our best to help.

We have grown to love Jamaica, Treasure Beach and those who live there. We like to think of them as our friends, but we do understand that respect and friendship are, sometimes, hard earned in Jamaica. One thing we do comprehend is that the single easiest way to show our feelings is to visit, show respect, try to blend and have a great time. We hope to do that in the very near future. We wish everyone the best and look forward to seeing everyone soon.

Respect,

Peyton

P.S. I'm not sure we ever formally thanked you, Sadie and Sylvan for the wonderful anniversary party at Lover's Leap. So, here is our appreciation for the World to see. Unfortunately, we have to wear our scarves all the time. You are something else (in the very best way).

Glad those scarves are coming in handy, Peyton and we always look forward to your visits.

I promise you, when you come, you can leave the scarves at home!
