I will be building very soon and would like to know if there are good carpenters living in Treasure beach as I would like to help the community in that way. I'm really looking for "GOOD WORK- MAN-SHIP".
Thanks.

There are many great carpenters living in TB. It would depend on if you need roofers, furniture makers, etc. as to who would be recommended.

Not directly related, but.....

My son-in-law, who loves TB wandered if anyone would be interested in workshops on making guitars with local woods.

With careful search great materials are available and capable hands too.

Turey, maybe your son-in-law could hold workshops for the kids and do something in conjunction with Eric, Jamaica Field Service Project. That would be beautiful, hope I'm in TB if and when there are such workshops.

Thanks hooked on TB, I'll tell him and let this board know if we get such a venture together.

We plan to make steel string acoustic, concert classic and flamenco guitars to the highest standards. The Spaniards would certainly have had guitars and arabic stringed instruments here.

Apart from strings, tuning machines, glues and varnishes, the wood materials will all be local.

For every guitar made we project a parallel tree nursery selling and giving seedlings of west indian mahogany, west indian cedar, lignum vitae, west indian ebony, red bullet etc.

Remember the craft revivals in Europe and America?

All we need are good design ideas, good tools and good marketing. We collectively own the Jamaica brand.

I've already identified the workshop areas on my land. Cool breeze, view and quite.
