I will be making my first trip to treasure Beach in mid march for 6 days. Looking to get out of town a couple of days to see some of the nearby attractions (Black River, Ys falls, Gut River, Lover's Leap ,etc. ). Can someone recommend a local driver for these trips. As well I would like to take a boat ride to the Pelican bar and then up the Black River. Any names and contact info would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Just go to the beach where Eggy's bar is located (a little road just past Diner's Delite Resturant), you'll find a captain to take you to the bar and Black River tour (better than the pontoon boats in Black river for the tour). I expect Eggy or the captain could direct you to a driver.

Maybe I'm too cautious but I'd select a very experienced driver to take you in a vehicle, not just anyone you find on the beach. I also want a driver with vehicle and liability insurance. Try Rebecca at Treasure Tours and also Aman Parchment is very good. He lives in Billys Bay. People in Treasure Beach can recommend their favorite boat captain. Prices for the boats and vehicles are pretty much the same, so after checking out the safety and insurance thing it's a matter of chemistry and convenience.

There are people on this board with much greater local knowledge than I and I'm no TB expert for sure, however; Kevin, the captain I've gone out with and who keeps his boat by Eggy's, knows his stuff. Although I'm a first timer on the south coast I grew up on the water in a coastal fishing village in Maine and have worked as a commercial lobsterman; I do know a bit about small boat handling. Kevin knows his boat and the local water. I don't know about the state of his insurance, but I wouldn't hesitate to go out with him again.

Last trip we used Keven (with an "e") he frequently transports for Jakes, but works on his own..he is legal/insured also..he was an excellent driver and I would use him again..also well priced...ask for him at Jakes or at Bebe's Place

Keven's number is 321 2855. He is taking family and friends to MoBay as I write this.

Hi--
For boat rides, I'd suggest Bernard Sutherland. I've traveled with him a few times and he's great -- I'm actually afraid of boat travel but wanted to do the Pelican Bar trip and my friends wanted to go by boat to Little Ochie, so I agreed, and Bernard took excellent care of me. I have friends who swear by Captain Dennis and hire him every time they need a boat ride. And of course there is the famous Ted Parchment!

For drivers, I'd definitely try Rebecca and Treasure Tours, and I've worked with Stephanie and Viking (Viking's House), too. I've also heard good things about Gary Brooks.

Ted would be Kevin's brother I beleive; he travels much of the time with Flora the dog...He's an excellent captain as well.

I would definitely recommend (Driver) Rebecca at Treasure Tours and (Boat captain) Bernard Sutherland a.k.a Mr. Nice Guy. Wither you are traveling by land or sea you will have the best by satisfaction with both of them.

Wish you all the best on your Vacation in Treasure Beach.

Dennis Abrahams (who also runs the new Shallow Bar) is always my choice for boat captains.
