Well, I spent my usual NYE at home, so I cannot comment as someone who was there, but the comments I heard were the sound system was much better than last year (I could sure hear it clearly from my verandah). Gregory came on around 2 a.m. and performed for about 30 minutes.

The show was very well attended and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

We'd love to hear from someone who was actually there!

I was there but consumed a few Dragon Stouts. :-) The sound was poor IMO. To hear it best you had to be between the speakers which was way too loud. Elsewhere the sound was kind of 'boxy'. The MC talked too much and was somewhat unintelligible. Overall the evening was very enjoyable with a great collection of souls who came together for the event. On the beach at Jakes they were lighting candles that ascended above the stage and rose to great heights. Very cool. IIRC Gregory started around 1:20 or 1:30 and only played a few songs. We had come hoping to buy dinner (pizza or fish) at Jack Sprats but they were only offering two choices for the evening, chicken and curried goat, which we couldn't eat.
All in all it was a very fun experience as was my entire stay in TB. Thanks to Rebecca and everyone who contributed to it.

I had been working hard for the past week and had several beers and thoroughly enjoyed the floating lanterns ( very unique ! )and fire works, but thought I-Wayne was a complete bore. My fatigue caught up to me before Gregory came on and I went to my car parked behind the the stage, reclined the seat but was unable to sleep. I heard all of Gregory's set and it sounded pretty great. He played all his greatest hits without pausing a beat and it occured to me that he has been doing this for the past thirty years at least- I saw him in Negril several times, starting in 1982. His voice was more mellifluous then, but he had to stop every few songs to go backstage to smoke crack, so all in all it was a better show now, if a bit perfunctory. Right after our show he was off to Junction for another one, at 3:00 am- not bad for a guy in his mid-fifties, I'm guessing. I only regret that I did not get to actually see him this time around ( although I did see a silohuette of him and his famous porkpie hat in the rearview mirror as we were waiting in traffic at the exit to Jack Sprat- his car was right behind mine. )

i real think gregory was ok, but there was another artist who came on which was not very clean. At first when we go there the mc did mention dont worry this is going to be a clean show parent, but when this particular artist came on he dam everything, people started going away. some women was the worst thing for him. the director of that show needs to look in to the matter i had my 12yrs old daughter and my 3yrs old son and i was ashamed.

THIS IS A FACT, ABOUT THE ARTIST, THE DIRECTOR SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF HIS SELF.

DID NOT ENJOY ONE BIT.A WASTE OF TIME AND HOPE NEXT ONE WILL BE WORTH MINE AND OTHERS TIME.
MAYBE A LOCAL DJ WOULD HAVE DONE A BETTER JOB.
THINK OF THE MONEY SAVED AND, THE LONG WAIT "FOR WHAT".

the show was not bad but there was this artist who did not have any respect knowing that children was around, i was so ashamed and i did not have children there, so i can just emagine that person who wrote and said they are a concern parent. ihope next year the director will

I think it was only two artist that was suppose to perform at the show i did not hear any expletive words from any of them, so maybe it was someone got a talk on the mike and was hyping up their self.

GG, I have two suggestions for getting the information you desire.

The first is to ask politely and respectfully. Using all caps is considered shouting and generally turns people off.

The other would be to write a letter to the gentleman to make sure he actually sees your request. Remember that there is no assurance that he, or anyone, reads this site regularly.

If you do receive an answer offline (i.e.: not on this site), you can always post it here to inform your fellow readers.

Good luck with your search.
