The Bluntas hill road is now impassable due to the rains that wash away the bandaid that they keep putting on that sore. That strech of road never use to have that problen until a trench for a waterpipe was put in and then fill with marl instead of concrete.
Come next week the children wont be able to get to school because the taxis and busses can't come in to collect them.

If the children want to go to school they will get to school. We use to walk on worse roads to get to school. Now I am a qualified teacher and a computer programmer. If BUSES or taxis cant get to the children, they will get to them. No offence kids. It is only "if you want good your nose have to run".

Observer I don't think you understand the kids of today.
I know of kids that walk for 1/4 mile in one direction to get to the taxi stand when if he had gone the opposite for the similar distance
he would have been in school. Don't think it's a matter of dunce, it's a matter of pride.(Why should'nt I be taxied to school like the rest of kids ?.)
Oh I must report that we now have a lovely band-aid of marl again untill the next rain.

Indeed BOWL even us elders can be paralysed by pride and public opinion.

Was the flow of water that causes the damage as bad say 60 years ago in memory of some of the older heads?

If the flow of water has increased under similar conditions recently, why?

Also, I would hesitate encouraging my child's walking to school because of the density of traffic and the irresponsible actions of many drivers. Even 10+ years ago when things were calmer and they had to walk, I worried until they got home.

Things and time have changed much ... including the taxes we pay. We expect the roads to be properly fixed. Safety is at risk for motorists and and foot-walkers alike.
